Vapor D vs EE

Recommended Posts

I recently had to sell my D width Vapors because of heel pain. I was thinking about trying a EE width for the wider heel, but wonder if the forefoot would be too wide. The widest part of my foot is right behind the baby toe and measures 10 cm across, (wife traced while I stood). I measure an 8 on the Bauer brannock, but could probably fit in a 7 1/2. Anyone know how the 10 cm measurement relates to Vapor width?

Dont they make Vapor line skates with D widht and with wider heel?

Not at retail. I'd have to go custom for that.

I have the opposite problem as you lol I have some D width Vapors right now  and might switch to EE width for my forefoot, but I'm worrying about my heel slipping in the EE's.  Are EE Vapor heels equivalent to D Supreme heels?

You could always get them punched out in the forefoot.

I had had a similar problem when I was in my vapors.

The D width Vapors have an A heel. The EE width Vapors I believe have either an AA or a B heel.

Agree with the JaniV; Try the Supreme line or another brand of skate.

I was in Supremes for the last 8 years and found that the new 1X last finally fits my foot.

The EE vapors at retail have a B heel. The AA heel is narrower than the A heel.

I've tried Supremes in a D, but my heel just doesn't lock in like it does with my Vapors.  Right now I have Supreme One100s, Flexlite 4.0s, and Vapor X90s all in D widths with the Flexlites fitting best, but are way to soft.

Correct, my bad.

The new CCM Jet Speeds fit like the Supremes however the heel locks like the Vapor. Think of the old Easton S15 fit.

If that's the case I'll have to go find a pair to try on.  I know I'm borderline size 5.5 or 6.0 in CCMs so I'm wondering if I end up in Jr skates that they might not last me as long as far as durability.  I'm 5'6 175 would that be too much weight for a good skater in a top of the line Jr skate?
