Bauer Experience

Got a chance to check this out tonight here in AZ. Had the 1X sticks along with mix of 1X, MX3 and Nexus 8000 skates. Also had along 3 lines of gloves and assortment of helmets. 1X stick was the new P28 Giroux pattern. Quick release, light and nice slappers too. I used some mx3 skates as the 1x were not best fit for me. The new speed plate is interesting. Formed well and comfortable. It's worth a serious look compared to superfeet or ccm footbeds. If you get a chance to go to one in your area I highly recommend it.

I thought it was a waste of time. Just my 2 cents. Trying out the sticks was decent but the skates, gloves and helmet were a waste. I wish I could have worn my own skates at the very least but they didn't allow it.

I couldn't get a good feel for the speed plate but it was interesting.

I did it last year...my only issue was that it wasn't long enough. I liked the classroom session where they gave you a rundown on the tech used in the products, but the actual on-ice time we had was next to nothing. One of the biggest things they wanted to talk about was the 37.5 material, and they gave us the shirts (which are awesome, by the way). But by the time any of us had worked up a sweat, we were done. That was my only gripe. But it was still awesome.

They had private sessions in the morning for a couple of the local shops. No idea how much ice time they had. I got there during the last hour and just got the skates I wanted to try and then grabbed a helmet and gloves to try and hit the ice. Probably messed around for about 40 minutes and could have stayed a bit longer.

There was nothing like that, and they guys doing the skate fitting didnt seem overly knowledgeable. I was hoping to get some good insight into the fitting process but it was very run of the mill.

The idea of the Bauer experience is to experience the new Bauer products..

When the skates dont fit very well you dont get a positive experience, rather a negative one. But thanks for that insight.

I think it was a cool idea to have this overall. Props to Bauer. I just didn't get as much out of it as I thought I would. The feel from the 1X stick was decent though, and it was pretty light.

I think the reason why there wasn't any in depth knowledge there was that they sent their street team essentially to run things, and not any product managers or people like them. Street team is just that (they call it something else though), surface knowledge. They're the guys in blue jackets.

We are heading to the Bauer Experience tonight at the Rinks in Anahiem...my expecations are fairly low, however I am looking for a new pair of skates so this is a good opportunity to try on the newest Bauer's.

Any chance to try on a pair of skates without having to pay first is always a welcome thing in my eyes.

This coming from a guy who bought something like five pairs of skates in two years because they all felt great in the store but awful on the ice...

Exactly...If I am going to spend $200+ on skates I want to at least get a feel for them on the ice...I know its not 100% the same (e.g. not being baked), but some boots feel different...and I need ALL of the help I can get when playing.

My first Bauer experience. I loved the APX2 gloves, thought the 1X skates were just ok, and really didn't like the 1X stick coming from a QR1 and Stage2. That's all personal preference, but I'm so happy I got to do it. Thanks Bauer.
