Tour Hockey?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone buy Tour Hockey product anymore? It used to be serviceable product for the price, but the last several years I've heard nothing but negative comments? Any thoughts on the brand?

The skates are just outdated. Heavy, and don't last more than 6 months before losing stiffness. They are being blown away by Mission/Bauer and Alkali (especially because Alkali offers the straight 80 frame). I don't see Tour being around much longer.

The Fish Bonelite pros are a pretty good skate. They weigh just a few grams more than AC1 or X90's. The ones worn by players I know have lasted a decent while and are still stiff.

Thx for the info! So I did some research with players and retailers familiar with Tour... and it looks like you should stay away from Tour product at all costs! Unless you're getting them free... like pretty much all of the good players who actually wear Tour (and there aren't many)! You better hope they give ya 2 pair to get ya through the year!

The guys at Total Hockey want nothing to do with the Tour skates. The top models don't sell and the less expensive skates almost all come back with defects! They call them Tours-R-Us skates! Eyelets pulling out, soles collapsing, toe caps cracking, chassis breaking. You name it!

One guy said Tour has been using the same skate shell for the last several years and they just change the color of the material each year to fool us into thinking they're new and improved! Apparently the people at Tour don't care about making quality products and just want to sell cheap skates to make money!

Sounds like most players these days want Bauer, Mission or Alkali.

No one really had good things to say about Tour product and apparently the customer service is the worst of any brand??!!

I'll stick to my ice hockey roots and go with the brands that I know are real hockey companies!

Hi guys, thanks for the honest feedback here with how you feel towards Tour Hockey and what your thoughts are. Tough to hear, but if that is how you feel, I can accept it. I am the VP for product design for Tour and can answer any questions you guys may have. I can assure you that Tour is new and improved and it is a new day and a new dawn at Tour. We have been making roller hockey products for 20+ years and we will be around for a long time to come.

Our new line of skates which will be launching this month are new and improved, not just putting lipstick on an old product, but well thought out changes and improvements at every price point. I look forward to hearing how you guys will comment on the new products that are coming out.

We are, always have been and always will be a roller hockey brand that caters to the players of this market and believe me when I say that you guys will see the changes and improvements made with our brand! I look forward to more honest conversations with you guys here.

Have a good one,

Although I love my new alkali's with a burning passion, wish the new line came out sooner so I could take the new blue tours into consideration. I'm a sucker for flash lol

I have heard the exact opposite to what hkybiz19 is saying. My Tours have lasted forever and are still stiff. I checked out the new stuff at Narch Winternationals and it looks sick!

Chad, glad your on here and I look forward to all the new stuff being available, I'm for sure getting the new blue skates and a bag, most comfortable skate brand by far! Don't even need to bake em

From the UK, and i've only mostly heard positives about TOUR skates. Every skate manufacturer will have had some bad press at times, but its like people just dont let go! Its also infuriating to see people saying that a company just "reusing a skate shell". Just implys those people have zero idea of what goes into bringing out a new product to market.

I hope Chad stays on here to answer everyones qs with the up coming line. I may have already bought some new Alkalis, but its still nice to know there are two "roller" specific companies out there doing battle... keeps it interesting for the consumer :P

I've been a Tour guy for a long time, long before I worked in the hockey industry. I feel like they outspec and outprice Mission/Bauer every step of the way. I honestly think that the FB-500 is one of the best looking inline skates that has ever been made (to the point that I wish that it was the high level skate). There are also some new protective and bags coming down the pipe that I had a chance to see at State Wars that looked fantastic. Have some faith in Chad, he is a good guy who cares about the inline hockey industry. He's doing his best to improve that line, and you'll start to see it very soon.

Growing up I remember Tour stuff being great, but I'd agree that they seem to have lost a bit of the edge to Mission and Alkali. I really hope they come back strong with some new gear though, they made great roller gear.

I have not personally tried them, but I have a number of teammates who have tried or been wearing the FB-9’s and like them. They really like the new tongue the skate features. The new all black pants they had at their booth at TORHS Winters looked really good. I’m looking forward to seeing what they bring to market this year.
