Unreleased Gear in NHL Trailer?

Recommended Posts

Not trying to turn this into a video game discussion or anything, but I just watched the new gameplay trailer for NHL 16 and saw a few different pieces of new equipment (mostly Bauer). It looked like a new Supreme stick and maybe gloves and a few other things here and there. I figured I was a little late on the unreleased products but then I couldn't find anything once I searched for it and I don't remember them ever putting unreleased items in the games before. Just wondering if anybody else noticed these or knows anything about the new stuff coming out.

Here is the trailer.

You're definitely right looking back at it in HD. New Supreme stick which I won't say the name since I don't want to be banned but follows the Nexus 1N and Vapor 1X pattern... Hint hint

A little surprised since the MX3 is still really new? I also think I see new Easton gear in there

Wheeler stopped wearing VH already last season after returning from his leg injury, around the same time Schiefele stopped.

I'm curious to know as well. Kulikov was wearing them early in the World Championship but then finished in Nexus 8000's. Maybe he'll be back in VH when the NHL season gets underway again. Sergei Shirokov also went back to Bauer after finishing the end of the KHL season in VH.

Other than Wheeler and Scheifele, Cody Eakin, Rene Bourque wore them for about a month, Duncan Keith tried them for a period. Possibly more players have tried them out in practices or whatever but haven't wanted to switch after all. Maybe there will be more that pick up VH with the changes they've made.

For what it's worth I asked a good friend of mine who at the time was working for an NHL club as an asst EQM about VH skates. He said the durability at the NHL level just wasn't there. This was abut a year ago.

Agreed but much has changed. And will continue to improve.

Then there is the money factor. For some players the extra cash from wearing a product is more appealing. I do know one high profile player that has dropped all equipment endorsements because the companies kept changing the product. He likes what he like and will stick with what works best for him no matter the company.
