What skate looks to fit better

Recommended Posts

Vapors are out. Don't fit me right.

These are CCM Jetspeed 300 size 6. Supreme 190 SIZE 7.

Jetspeed good heel lock. I think supreme just aren't deep enough to. About the 4-5th lace from the toe is pushing down on top of my foot. My instep is deep.

If you tighten those sloppy laces up, flex forward, stand in them for a while, sit in them for a bit, then undo, and RELACE again, you'll be able to answer your own question MUCH better than anyone else here can.

Hard to say, because IMHO I don't think you can tell fit visually on a hockey skate, and because those look like they are out of box, not baked, if I presume correctly. (not sure if your LHS will let you bake before you buy, but some do). Both of those skates will change in feel dramatically once you bake them (the Jetspeeds a little more than the Supremes), and that can relax them a bit to give you a touch more room in certain places. Also, are you trying them on with stock footbeds, and if so, do you intend to stick with stock footbeds? Changing out your footbed can have an affect on the fit and volume of the skate depending on what you're going to go skate with. Also, (and maybe you did), but make sure you try both skates on both feet - it's surprising how many people have different sized individual feet.

On a side, it seems to me that CCM is trending on their sizes being smaller than the other skate brands. I am very similar to the size profile above; I wear CCMs in the 6 to 6.5 range, but Bauers I'm more around the 7 range.

Both seem to fit well visually on a depth perspective, but if you think the Supreme is giving you odd pressure down low, then maybe you should opt for the Jetspeed - assuming this doesn't feel the same. I've tried both on myself. The Jetspeed seems to fit a little wider than the Supreme, so I'm not surprised by what you're saying. As noted above, I'd encourage you to bake them and then evaluate.

I have not tried on the Jetspeeds. I did try on other recent CCM offereing and I skate in a pair of older supremes. If you have a wide foot look towards the CCM. my supremes are wide E or EE. I had them punched and still have issues. What I learned is that bauers toe box is deeper thanthe CCM box and the sewing of the body to the cap just hits my toes/foot wrong. But am waitiing for my oldest skater to use my next pair of skates...maybe the next year
