There are still good people though.

I lost my cell phone while hiking a few weeks ago. I thought I was done. I went out bought a new one and cancelled the services that day.

Then I get a call from my sister-in-law saying that she spoke to someone who had my phone. The lady hit her number on speed dial then boom!

There is still hope.

No she did not play hockey. Must be a hockey player thing. <_<

Some people just don't care...

About a year ago I was leaving the rink and I noticed a piece of paper on the ground in the parking lot. It was a vehicle registration. I looked at it, saw it was still valid, came back into the rink, got some RDV letterhead and an envelope, wrote down his address and dropped it in the outgoing mail. He came in a few days ago and thanked me. I just hope people would do the same for me if I ever would be in that situation.

1 time in a tournament in Atlanta, i brought my CD player into the locker room. After the game, i couldn't find it. I was sure somebody stole it. While i was getting undressed, this kid came into our locker room looking for clothes. He said while he left somebody stole his clothes. My friend's dad put a empty box of phat tape and a roll into it and left in the middle of the floor to see if anybody would steal it. When we came back, nothing was gone and it was just my imagination 'cause i found my CD player behind another kids clothes.

The same thing happened at my school. Everybody thought that they could leave their locker open because we all trusted each other. Peoples stuff started to get taken. I thought my binder was gone. Everybody just happened to misplace it or left it in another class. i found mine in my locker at the bottom w/ all my trash papers.

I guess i should learn to get more organized :D

Update - I had my ankle x-rayed today...no break thank god, but it is severly sprained. I'll be off my skates for at least 3 weeks, maybe more.

And, the rink's manager called to tell me one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. The voicemail he left went like this -

"Hi, I just wanted to let you know that our guy that handles the video equipment went through the tapes, but it was pretty much inconclusive. We'll keep an eye out for your stick though. We haven't seen too many guys in here with an Easton Synergy but we'll be on the lookout for it."

Uhhh....."haven't seen too many guys with an Easton Synergy?" Seriously, I think at any given pick-up you'll see at least 3-4 guys using an Easton Synergy. Either the guy has no idea what he's talking about and probably doesn't even play hockey (likely) or he just doesn't give a shit and is hoping I just go away (also likely). Or both (most likely).

Dammit.

This may sound strange but I've heard that a clean break is sometimes better than a very severe strain or sprain. I don't have first hand knowledge as I'm not a doctor, but I do play one from time to time.

Well, the guy who said it was "severly sprained" is just an xray technician. I can put weight on it, and if I absolutely needed to skate on it I could. I talked to a couple friends today at work who said their sprained ankles were so bad they couldn't put any weight on it at all. So, that made me a little more optimistic about my situation. If it doesn't feel better in a few weeks, I'll go to a Doctor. It's finally starting to bruise.....I don't know if that's good or bad

thats what i did to my ankle about 2 years ago. i went to go hit a guy who was like 6'5 240. and he just laid me out. but when he hit me, my skate dug into the ice and i fell back. and my skate was still in the ice. and my ankle was at a 90 degree angle. i went to the hospital thinking it was broken. but i just severely sprained it. the docs like thats the worst i have ever seen an ankle without it being broken. i didnt skate for like 5 weeks.

5 weeks, eh? Damn......well, I guess I'll have to find other ways to occupy my time for now. I'll probably gain 15 pounds...lol.

Just to let you know that person who you call "just an X-Ray tech" had to go through University to get that position. My mom is a radiologist (and a former tech), and she even says that a good tech can notice anything she can. I would treat that info the tech gave you just like anyone else gave it to you.

Luckily for me, our beer league games are always scheduled at like 10pm on a weeknight when nobody is at the rink except the players and a couple people that work there so we never really have to worry about stuff getting stolen. Pickup hockey is a whole different story though, I usually never bring anything of value with me and leave all my extra equipment and whatnot that I won't absolutely need at home so once i'm dressed basically all that's left in my bag is some extra tape and the bag itself. I don't care if my clothes get stolen, I wear some raggety old stuff that nobody in their right mind would want to steal, LOL.
