z1ggy 81 Report post Posted February 19, 2019 How will these fit relative to Mako IIs? Got fit into FT1's but didn't pull the trigger because I knew the FT2 would be coming shortly. Rumor is the heel is slightly wider in FT2? Will they still offer the upcharge 3D fit process?
Shogun 19 Report post Posted February 19, 2019 I’ve read that the heel is more narrow on the FT2 and someone who has used them said the same thing. Hockey Tutorial has a video on YouTube and they said the heel is wider on the FT2. It would be nice to know the truth, haha.
gosinger 122 Report post Posted February 19, 2019 I'd be interested how good the protection is on the FT2, as some people were not too happy about that on the FT1 (same with the Mako I&II).
Sniper9 529 Report post Posted February 19, 2019 Pretty sure the ft2 will also have the 90 day satisfaction guarantee.. so just try them.

Seriously, I'm hoping it's tighter because I like the fit of my FT1s and if it got wider, I'd probably have to go custom due to my narrow heel. I'd be shocked if the FT2 heel was tighter, as the FT1 heel is already quite narrow. Not sure how many people require an even tighter heel. Biggest complaint I heard about FT1 was heel pain because it's so narrow.
VegasHockey 1280 Report post Posted February 20, 2019 I have a demo pair of the FT2 currently. The heel is, in fact, wider in the FT2 than the FT1, but is still extremely narrow. They are the same stiffness but there are more foams in the FT2 so I would imagine they provide a bit more protection and comfort. If I was going to compare retail FT1 vs FT2, the FT2 would be the better choice. If you are going custom or pro stock in the FT1 I would say its better option than the retail FT2. That's a bummer to hear. Gonna be riding these FT1s for a long time then.
