Left Wing King 51 Report post Posted May 20, 2020 Looking for wear patches that go on the sides of inline boots, as when I stake it occasionally often I'm starting to cause damage to my boot. Any guidance please.
Isles12 8 Report post Posted May 20, 2020 Not sure if I’ve seen wear patches for sale separately, but they might exist. You could use two part epoxy(like jb weld) and layer it over the wear areas. Or the option I use on my outdoor skates is a small piece from a plastic cutting board. One of the cheap thin flexible ones. Just cut the pieces to size and glue them onto the wear areas. I used contact cement and it’s holding up really well. I like this option because the plastic is slippery and will slide across asphalt without getting too ripped up. Left Wing King 51 Report post Posted May 20, 2020 No worries, I was thinking of putting some leather over the area.
Westside 270 Report post Posted May 22, 2020 I second JB Weld. Had holes through my wear patches and simply made new ones. For about $5, it was a no brainer before: after:
IPv6Freely 2107 Report post Posted May 23, 2020 Fixed the thread title for you. "Looking For!!" isn't exactly descriptive.
Vet88 674 Report post Posted May 27, 2020 Leather wears to quickly. After lots of trial and error for a dirt cheap fix I used stick tape as the material and soaked it with an epoxy for each layer of stick tape I put down aka laying down sheets of fiberglass or carbon fiber. It takes a few days to build the layers up but once you reach the height and coverage you need it last for ages.
