Thockey, i'm loving those AM's. One of the nicest pairs i've seen. Who hooked ya up now?

The lovely staff @ Nike hooked me up. Early talk was 90 pairs, but come release it got cut to only 15pairs. These happen to be the only released in my size.

I'm scared to know the price aswell.

$160.

Gucci Python Boots

Got them for under 1000 with discount

I can't think of what I would wear with them (or wear them with, however you want to look at it).

...yeah - the more I look at 'em, the more I think they might be a little 'extreme' in their metrosexual nature. Now, I love spending money to look good, but spending money to look like an, *clears throat*, an ass is beyond me.

Gucci has been getting increasingly close to the line (crossing it on more than one occasion) - Louis Vuitton has been beyond it for years, D&G's advertisements freak me out, and Prada really seems, for some reason, kinda 'blah' now.

I stick with Burberry, Lacoste, Armani, Banana, FCUK, Ezra Fitch (by Abercrombie & Fitch - gotta love the employee discount) and, occasionally, Ken Cole.

Shoes? With the exception of the Lacoste and Gucci pairs in this topic (love them both, BTW), a few pairs of running shoes and a couple pairs of Cole Haans, I'm a huge fan of Johnston & Murphey. I tend to stay away (far, far away) from reptile skin...

Do you really follow fashion? Because if anything, as of late, Gucci is much more conservative. Gucci is a euro-prep (if that makes sense) brand and always has been for mens RTW. They offer clean cut pieces in great fabrics. Some people cannot pull off a python boot, and some people it may look funny on. If you wear it correctly, it can be very cool. Dolce and Gabbana is run by two divorced gay men, what would you like their advertisments to look like? Most mens fashion lines that are run by men are run by very gay men. Prada has always been "blah", they are cleancut and very understated, that is the point of her line.

I dont see how wearing a pair of python boots makes you look like an ass. I could see if your wearing them with sweatpants, but if you can wear them correctly, they look like a million bucks.

You really dont seem like the target for high end luxury ready to wear. You may own a pair of sneakers or a pair of glasses or a logo sweater, but that is not what these companies are about. Just because you own Gucci shades dosent mean you are into their fashion. Most high end luxury fashion does look pretty "over the line".

I dont even know what to say about those, but I know If I wore those I would probably get beat up and called gay wherever I went. I dont even know any girls who would wear those boots. And btw, no man should wear boots for style, thats just not right.

Maybe if you live in Bumfuck, Canada people would call you gay. In New York people could really give a shit what you are as long as you arent messin with them. And I just still do not get how a pair of boots can make you look gay. Having sex with somebody of the same sex would make you gay, but zippin up a pair of boots? There are gay men who wear sweatpants and timberlands and oversized teeshirts, so if I thrown on a pair of timerblands (god forbid) am I gay?

And why should men not wear boots for style? They are comfertable, and look good. Woot

Conservative? In what sense of the word? As far as I can tell, Gucci is moving in a direction that might very well soon see it's clothes and accessories labeled as being "unisex." I have been having a tough time distinguishing what is being marketed to males and what is being marketed to females.

Example: this past spring, one of my buddies came back from a shopping trip to NYC with a pair of capris (a la Rafael Nadal). I can't remember which designer he identified as the guilty party, but, coupled with the shirt he was wearing, from 250 feet away, it was tough for me to tell whether he was a slightly built male or a beastly female.

In all fairness, it seems that many designers might be moving in that direction - especially in the world of the accessory. I've been in the market for a new pair of shades for a little while now, but I can't seem to find a decent pair of sunglasses that won't make me look like a girl from Long Island. Even something as simple as a watch is becoming increasingly loud and flamboyant with many of these lables.

Personally, when it comes to fashion, I'm a proponent of the tried-and-true. While, yes, any of my Prada pieces have been relegated to "semi-formal party wear," I appreciate a classic, conservative, everyday-casual look...and apparently that's not what "high-fashion" is "about." My bad.

Should I start doing all my shopping at the Salvation Army, then? Or Old Navy?

I dont mean it in a bad way at all, but it is just that some people think that when they see somebody wearing a 500 dollar LV bag that they are fashionable and that they know LV. When this could not be further from the truth.

Capris have been a staple of mensware for years. They are very functional and great for the spring. I cant remember one designer who has never offered a pair of capris in their resort line.

Have you been a fan of Gucci for a while? If you have been you know who Tom Ford was. He designed for Gucci and pretty much saved the company. His designs (on the runway and his RTW) were very outlandish and crazy. Tom recently left the company. Have you ever been to a Gucci store or been in a store that carries Gucci Mens Ready to Wear? If you have you will see that Gucci has always been flambouant or "gay" in your eyes. Recently though they have been coming much more conseritive in their use of colors and fabrics. Sunglasses and Handbags aren't the only things that these designers make.

Ok so everybody bashes Capris... why? "Because Women Wear them, and they're Gay". Women also wear jeans, shorts, pants, trousers, slacks, etc. I just dont get how pants a couple of inches too short make you look gay...

Have you been a fan of Gucci for a while?

When I see a LV bag in this area, the first thing that usually comes to mind is "fake."

I really can't say I've been a "fan" of any one clothing designer for an extended period of time, if at all. If anything, I have specific designers or stores that I like for specific items. Most of my undershirts (t-shirts) and underwear is from work (Abercrombie and Fitch - the MADtv skits are INACCURATE!), I'm a fan of the Ezra Fitch (Abercrombie's "designer" label) jeans and button-downs. I usually go to Banana Republic if I am looking for a sweater or light jacket, Burberry for golf and formal, and outerwear, my polos and henleys are primarily Lacoste, while Ken Cole, Prada, Armani and Gucci are mostly brands I only pick-up if I see something I really like. As much as I would like to (I have a fairly severe uniformity complex, so the number of lables in my closet does bother me), I haven't been able to align myself with one designer or company.

Wow.

I get my shirts from hockey tournaments. I get my jeans from Kohls. I get my shoes online.

Those are both 2 opposite extremes. Like I said before some people like to spend money on other things. I don't think I myself could justify 1000 for anything even a hockey skate(yes a hockey skate) or a shoe. But hey its your money.
