Just got the SyNergy SL

Recommended Posts

My SL is chipping worse then the one in those pics, but the structural durability of the stick is holding up amazingly well. . . so far

Yeah, Knock on Wood! I am getting an SL Grip Forsberg tomorrow direct from Easton. I'm curious to see if the grip will prevent chipping or if (maybe) Easton fixed the problem. But, again, I could care less as long as the structural durability stays in tact and the stick performs. I think a lot of people feel the same way. I mean if people only bought sticks for 'looks' then TPS would be out of business :P

LOL, thqat would be very true.

Why are you getting an SL grip from Easton directly?

A warranty replacement for my broken Stealth grip.

Why'd you get an SL Grip as the warranty replacement? Why not another Stealth Grip? Did you like the SL better?

He's definately had alot of Handle problems with the Stealth. I believe he mentioned in another post that the SL is thicker.

Thanks Eazy_b97, yes the Stealth shaft is comparable in diameter to the CCM Vector 120c I prefer a more traditional shaft.

p.s Eazy_b97 you were the bomb in The Princess Bride yo!

Wouldn't that mean it is the same shaft size as the Stealth? Because I put my composite end plug into my Si-Core and it is easy to tell it's alot smaller.

Mine is thinner than my old pro-stock synergy.

Ah crap. The only sticks Easton makes in Drury this year are thin. Curse my big hands!!!!

Load up on close-out Synergy's or else go with a Synthesis Combo.

The SL comes with the same composite butt-end they use in the Stealth. And yes, the composite butt-end is smaller in diameter than the SL shaft. But when I pulled the wooden butt-end out of my synthesis and put it in the SL, the butt-end was slightly bigger. So the SL is smaller in diameter than the regular Synergy, but larger than the Stealth.

When I had both butt-ends out of the synthesis shaft and the SL, and compared them side by side, you can tell the walls of the SL are thinner. Which is fine and good, but Easton could have made the SL shaft the same diameter.

And just an FYI about the Grip SL, I used the Grip SL in a few games with some serious contact and hacking and the Red is not chipping. Their is almost microscopic wear on the very corners, but you can barely see it. So it appears Easton has fixed the paint problem. And one more thing, get ready for a small amount of adjustment time adjusting to the Grip on the SL. Although it feels like their is a thinner Grip on the SL than the yellow Synergy Grip, the SL Grip is much tackier! The first time I went to slide my hands it felt like Fly Paper!

Damn, I wanted the grip to be like the one on the gold sYnergy!

Whereas the blue one is slick as all hell. As Wayne Brady would say, "I have to choke a bitch." to keep it from sliding out of my hands, even with my stay fresh palms. Nothing a candy cane can't handle though.

I found that too, Cavs. It feels really smooth, but it is slippery. I am thinking about putting tape grip or candy-cane on it though. Its especially when I'm just stickhandling in my basement, feels like I'm trying to grab Jello.
