Blue Tuuks making a comeback...

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of brand new blue 260 Tuuk's. But I cant put them on anything cause the heel of the tuuk is too wide and all of the skates now have narrow composite outsoles.

The good:

They were solid and didn't break like the early Tuuks did.

Gretz wore them.

The bad:

Nobody other than Gretz wore them.

Glenn Anderson wore them nearly his entire career.

Gretz had blue LS in the Heritage Classic before he switched to Perfecta for the game...

Gretz didn't wear Perfecta's in the game. He wore LS on a V12 boot.

Those Perfecta holders, are those still available? I always liked the ones Gretzky used but I didn't know what they're called until now actually.

Perfecta was eventually bought by John Wilson (England) and distributed by Riedell for a few years here in the U.S.

Unfortunately, they were putting carbon steel blades on the rentals and that is all that Wilson was making at the time. Riedell put the blades on rental skates for awhile.

I think they have simply faded away.

Who cares how they look...If I could get a pair of those I would put them on. Dang those are sweet. I know #2 on Maine and the backup goalie of Maine. I played with the goalie (Lundin) last year. He's hella good.

Are you from Minnesota, if so where?(asking because of Lundin)... Also what happened to the clear tuuks I liked those the best... I remember seeing some on ebay last year somtime.

Why did Riedell stop making hockey skates? I know they make high end figure skates. My ex gf used to wear them. I know they werent Bauer/CCM but they were a serviceable skate.

You would think Riedell would come up with a high end skate due to their vast expertise in the figure skate boot business. Many players would probably pay more $$ for a well crafted, locally made skate that fits well and performs well. (Graf)

The equipment guy for Maine has a box full of these holders that he doesn't have a need for. I have practice at the Alfond on Thursday. I will look into it if anyone is interested.
