TPS shafts

Recommended Posts

I'd stay away from the rubber because of it turning your palms black

Yeah that is the only real downside to the shaft though. The rubber coating makes the shaft almost indestructible, and plus if TPS isnt making them any more :( you would probbly be able to find one on closeout for cheap.

Sorry to bring old topic...but i was looking for opinions about the Redlite (NOT XN10)

and i found it was 285...not bad for a 100cnd shaft..so does it feel light or it is not balanced( i would use a z-carbon,f4 or franklin 9007 in it)

any idea ? thanks

Has anyone used the Redlite Control? How's the grip on those things? Do they peel really fast?

It's pretty similar to Easton's current grip

I found them a bit softer than other brands. I have a (TPS) stiff flex, but if I got another I'd probably get an X-stiff. They are bulletproof though!

I'm checking out the TPS website and the only shafts that have the pro-radius shape are intermediates. For the ResponseXN10 and the R2, the intermediate shafts are listed at 51" but for the flex, it just says intermediate. Does anyone know what the stiffness rating is for the intermediate flex? Is it the same as the Whip flex?

The ones I've had in the shop seem to be a bit less stiff than whip sticks. At least for the R2/R2XN10.

would you guys say the RL xn10 and xn10 tapered are better shafts performance wise than a z bubble? if its not going to be a big difference then ill probly go z bubble as its on sale for 70 dollars...i wouldnt mind a nice whippy xn10 shaft though if it is indeed better.

I´m starting to feel that torque with my R2XN10 shaft as well. But that is only starting after half a year of (ab)use. During games, whenever I miss a shot I´m flexing my shaft like hell...sort of a habit you know. It´s even curved back a bit meanwhile B) and on Saturday it got two-handed pretty badly and later on I smacked it against a post but nothing happend. They are tanks but getting softer after a while. I now received an XN10 OPS as well and will try stiff flex now whereas I usually went with TPS´s regular Flex. Maybe that will help the torque issue.

In my opinion XN10 tapered yes, RL XN10 no. Depends on what you are looking fo of course. R2XN10 paired with an Inno tapered is to me the best performing combo I ever used (an I tried plenty). Perfect balance and feel + good for all types of shots. The RLXN10 on the other hand feels incredibly light but to me it also feels "dead" as well. I like it for giving and receiving passes but I can´t seem to do slappers with the Red Lite.

Well the Z-Bubble was nothing special to me. I had to use it in 110 flex to get any decent slappers. I broke an 85 flex on my first shot and the 100 got as a replacement didn´t perform the way I liked and I gave it away pretty quickly. I then bought another one in 110 flex (about 3 years after the other 2) because it was very cheap and I finally got some good slap shots with it but that´s about it. At the time I was even going back to UltraLite with Z-Carb combo over the Z-Bubble with a Z-Carb.

RL XN10 is similar to a z-bub

R2XN10 is much better.

I find that the int tps's torque a lot......Just to let ya know

I've heard that from one other person but never had that problem myself and I've used 10-15 different TPS shafts/OPS.

Well put. Just in case I sounded confusing. I currently use 5 TPS sticks/shafts and only in the one that is already heavily used for half a year I am starting to feel torque. I don´t think it is a general issue with their shafts.

Dont mean to steal the thread, just didnt want to make a new topic. Is the Vector v120 blade a tapered or not? I cant really tell?

is it similar to twisting? If a shaft torques up does that mean that one should go for a stiffer flex?

I'm stealing the thread back :)
