Great Fight

Dan Hinote is one ballsy SOB. Although he sure didn't get the best of that fight.

He almost never wins, kinda like Barnaby. Dan's one of my favorite players though.

Hinote is never going to wow anyone with "skill" but he's such a solid guy. And the ESPN games where they mic'd him were some of the best tv ever.

He was in Hershey for parts of 3 seasons, back when they had talent. Hinote, Trepanier, Matte, Marha, Belak, Aubin, Niemenen, Denis, Cassivi, Aebischer, Eric Messier, Parker, Dingman, Larsen, etc... and Hartley behind the bench.

Gotta love Hinote sticking up for his buddy Foppa. He's one of those guys who has a perma-smile on their face on the ice all the time, even when he's getting his ass kicked.

Here's a clip of the fight as it happened and also a replay in slow motion. It's kind of a hassle to download it though, click on the "Free" button at the bottom of the page, then there's a timer counting down (typically from 30-60 seconds), when it's done a link with the file will appear where you can save it from. A bit of a hassle but it's worth it. :)

May be slightly off topic:

Is that a bumper-guard on the bottom of the net? If so, is that a Swedish thing, a Euro thing, or a modern around-the-world thing that I haven't seen before?

Sorry, I should have been more clear about what I saw in the picture:

I was referring to the black piece that looks like it is screwed into the bottom outside of the net.

I was referring to the black piece that looks like it is screwed into the bottom outside of the net, slightly above ice level. Beside the ref.
