but everyone's head is a different shape, and not everyone is evenly divided by hat sizes, and i doubt they make "in between sizes" so there must be someway the helmet adjusts, even if slightly.

Nope, taking the liner out is the only "adjustment". It's a molded carbon-fiber helmet with no adjustment. Luckily for me, it fits my head perfectly.

If they were at that price, and no one was buying them, them what will happen with the new Reebok lid??

Well, you have to remember, when the carbster first came out, the most expensive helmet was the 75 dollar bauer 5000. Now with the Reebok coming out there's already the 100+ dollar bauer 8000 so it's not as big a jump.

I'm not doubting that it is, I'm just saying that the Carbster was a nice helmet, and not many people bought it at $150 most likely because Mission was not a recognizable name at the time it came out. RBK/Reebok is a huge name, and that will help them sell at that price.

For those interested, Hockey Giant has put the Carbster on sale for a "buy even if just curious" price of $20 (might be just for this weekend, as it was this price last weekend too and shot back up to $40 later): http://www.hockeygiant.com/miscarhochel.html

Regardless, if you were ever curious just to try one, hard to refuse at that price (for those in the US, it comes to about $28 shipped).

Thanks for the heads up, I've been thinking about picking one up for awhile and that price just convinced me to get one. Helmet and a role of tape came to 30 bucks and change after shipping.

$50.56 USD shipped to Canada. I might get it for roller hockey, but am just scared of border fees.

When I used it for roller, it felt like my head was in an oven, especially during the summer.

Okay, thanks for the opinion. Since I would only use it for roller in the summer, I guess I won't get it. I still want to try it thought.

Get a Jofa 690 if you're using it over the summer. I just switched to one last week. If you can find the older model, it's even better. The older model's padding is more comfortable.
