New Gloves

do the xx or xxx have any significant advantage to justify the extra cash over the xv? Chadd you're in PA right? where at? No shops in the philly area have DR.

The XX and XXX have advantages over the XV (XX have stretch palm, dual density foams and some plastic inserts while the XXX are nylon and have a slightly different cuff than both the xv and xx).

IMO there's not enough to justify the $60-70 for the xx or xxx. The XV is an outstanding glove, and would probably be the top of the line in many other company's lineups.

chadd, youre a pro so tell me if im correct here: brian heaton was a man that made/designed for Brians, Heaton, Vaughn, TPS goalie gear

Forte is a glove company that makes/designs: eagles, muskoka, old hespelers, old vaughn, and does tons of pro stock player gloves

Heaton worked at Brians, Heaton, TPS and CCM.

Forte is exclusively Eagle. They did not make Muskoka or Vaughn. Not sure about Hespeler

jr, i've seen a pair of ccm's with a forte tag and a pair of fedorovs TPS with a forte tag as well

Forte did not make TPS gloves for Fedorov. I know it for fact!

i dont mean to be a dick, but ive worn them and ive also see the hespeler gloves forte made for maltby, draper, mccarty

Actually, you do mean to be one.

I can tell you that you are still wrong! I was the rep that dealt with Sergei while at TPS and I can guarantee you that Forte didn't and has never made ANY HGT glove for TPS Hockey.

Hespeler gloves in years past were made by Forte. I am sure that Paul Murphy can confirm that.

To my knowledge, Forte has made gloves in the past for BNH, CCM, Flite, Hespeler, Vaughn, just to name a few.

As far as Muskoka goes, I believe that Ferland made those for awhile, but, not sure who is making them now.

With regards to Brian Heaton, Brian started with Cooper in 1972 and went on to form Brian's. After selling Brian's, he created the Heaton brand, which had an incredible run of successful products, which he later sold to Karhu (now The Hockey Company). In 1999, Brian Heaton went to Louisville Hockey (now known as TPS Hockey) and brought the XHALE goal series to market. He left in 2001 to go back to The Hockey Company where he designed the Blockade goal series. In mid-'04, Brian left THC to form Brian Heaton Goalie.

You are still wrong on the TPS gloves. Trust me! He never wore a TPS glove that was designed after the CP94. I challenge you to provide me proof of this. I have three pairs of brand new HGTs sitting in my garage, and, have all the notes and dates that we made changes on his gloves. Now, those gloves don't look like CP94s to me. Do they to you?

The Mission gloves are actually made in the Orient, which Justin I am sure can confirm.

anyone have exerience with graf?

The original 700 series was nice. The leather on leather palm was great. They switched to the nash on leather and it wasn't the same.

L7's or L5 gloves....The best gloves at their respective prices...

As a side note, I do like the RBK high end gloves...But I can't imagine paying over $100 for a pair of gloves.....

I liked the nylon version better than the 8k.

aren't the 6k's just 8k except with nylon instead of leather and have a nash palm instead of pittards? if so, i'm sure they'd be ever better than the 8k's

Kind of like how the XX is leather and has stretch palm while the XXX is nylon?

The same type of situation regarding the gloves, but Bauer claims that the nylon/nash combo is one step better, when RBK thinks its a step lower. That's according to the numbers, anyways.
