Graf 703 VS 704 Fit (Not for me...)

Recommended Posts

Hi, Most of you around here know how I feel about Graf Skates...

This being said, I have a friend that does not want to change skates and go with Mission like I told him (Live and learn I guess)

He asked me to describe the difference between a 703 and a 704, I told him that I did not know..

He has his sites set on a pair of 704's on clearance at are LHS and he wants to know if there the same as his 703's, I said stay away but for the price hes getting em, hes not going to change his mind any time soon so...

Can someone help this poor fool, he has no computer and keeps beging me to ask <_<

He wants to know about fit, ancle support and pitch...

His name is Brian

Thank you

The boots almost fit exactly the same. The only difference is the 704 has a narrower heel. For some people that was a big problem. However, me and a friend both bought Graf's at the same time about five years ago. I bought the 703's, he bought the 704's. The narrow heel was killing his foot until the guy at our lhs punced it out for him. He loved them from then on. Your friend should definitely try them on first.

Oooh! Get 735s!

(it's the same boot)

Hi My name is Brian, could you please elaborate on that, I don't like the T-Blades,

How can i get a boot with a regular blade on it?

I wanted to get G series but DJ's posts and the graf problems on this board make me think again...

I tried the Missions DJ has but they don't fit me...

I just got my custom G3's in today. Extremely narrow size 13's. 7 Series outsole w/Cobra pro-2000 holders. Very nice. Sorry DJinferno, but I think you just have shitty luck.

I don't know, I've had several things custom made for me before, and they usually seem to be of lesser quality than readily available on the shelf items.

your the first guy I ear that from...

Brian is going to get the 704's I think...

Me I'm a start skating with the Missions in 2 weeks, hopefully, I can get use to em....

I've been skating on Graf skates for a long time and the way the 703's wrapped around my ankle and the aggresive pitch made me like em...

I was thinking about getting 735's with tuuk+ but after all this mess, i really don't think i wanna spend 400$ plus Grafs

I might just quit hockey, with no NHL on TV and the low, very low support for the Sport in Georgia, it's going to be hard to get motivated and get back into shape and get use to a new skating style, It's just to much mentally an on the emotions

The NHL and Graf really messed it up for me... IMO

If you really love hockey, you should suck it up. A bad skate and the NHL should be enough to take you out. Just move to canada mate. haha

Set them at +1 and you should be fine.

I'm from Canada, I miss that Hockey first mentality... here hockey is like the circus...

I love hockey and always will but if you cant skate and feel confortable out there I don't see the point in playing...

It's a personal thing, Skating is the biggest part of the game, that sets it appart from every other sport, I've had the opportunity to try every skate out there... my feet are very bizzare so...

Wrong - they won't waste their time and make an inferior product then have the customer refuse it. There's more attention to detail on a custom product.

Maybe not skates, but a year ago I had a pair of Stingray Tony Lama cowboy boots custom made for me. Not only was there no cartilage spot on the front of the boot, but there was a seam directly in the middle of the boot where the cartilage was supposed to be. I freaked out and returned the boots. Every other stingray boot they made comes with the cartilage spot in the middle of the boot (it is the best part of the ray). They politely told me I should be happy they made me a boot at all. However, after having my friends dad write them a letter on his legal firm stationary, they did an about face, made me another pair of boots, and gave me a $200.00 refund. I've also had a guitar custom made, and I had similar issues. By my experiences, Tony Lama and Paul Reed Smith care more about their bottom line than customer satisfaction. Especially PRS guitars. Thgey considered me lucky that they would even trouble themselves with my paltry order.

Sorry to hear about that, but in the hockey industry, it is not so. Especially when you are trying to get a professional player to use your product.

Sorry to confuse you, but I'm just getting into hockey. I have to judge things based upon my previous experiences. However, Graf has been great. However breaking them in has been interesting. Also, getting used to something with an actual arch is painful, but I getr used to it in about 20 minutes.

Actually PRS was a great company to deal with and Paul is a nice guy. I used to do custom orders all the time.

Perhaps, but PRS' tune changes when you tell them you want left handed. Since then I have discovered Southpaw Guitars. All they sell is left handed guitars and bases. Besides, they were such a pain that PRS does not even produce lefties anymore. Unless you want private stock.

Hey djinferno,

A little off topic but could you give your review of the S500 skate after you try them a few times. Still waiting for your review from the other thread of that unfortunate incident with Graf Canada.
