I have a quest and like it, no problems, but I have a very "fat head" lol, and the narrowness kills me. An 8000 will be in my future, just for the fact you can widen it :)

I'd have to go with the 4000 even though it's a bit too narrow for me. The soft padding in my old 5000 kept falling out and I just got an 8000 for a guy and two pieces of the soft padding were in the bottom of the box.

I've always loved the 3000, but can't get them anymore from my LHS, they just seem to fit me the best though

There are still some floating around.

yeah, but it's just easier to purchase what fits at the store, they got me into a 4000 and I can run with that. I may just look into Itech again though, as those are still the same as the one I had a yr and a half ago, and they fit relatively well

I have a Bauer 4000 and it's great, very comfortable.

I tried on an 8000 last week and it was terrible, the inside of it was like having a concrete brick on your head, it was very hard. Concussion city was the first thing that came to my mind when I first tried it on, I have no idea how that would be able to protect someones head better than the traditional style foam helmets like the 4000.

The 3000 has single foam, the 4000 has dual foams. The 3000 is a slightly sleeker look, but there aren't any huge differences. The foam stiffness is the biggest difference, as the 4000 feels a bit stiffer when brand new.

Despite the fact that I never judge equipment on how it looks, there is an exception in this case. The 8000 might actually be the ugliest thing I have ever seen, I can't bring myself to ever even think of wearing that puppy. 5000 for me.

yeah, its horrible looking, but it still might be one of the most comfortable helmets. i dont really need to adjust my helmet any more than the 5000, so i guess ill just stick with the nice-looking one(unless the 8000 really is that much better, which i doubt it)

Noone on my team until now has had the 8000 besides me so I didn't mind wearing it I sometimes thought I still had the 5000. Now that someone else has it it reminds me how ULGY it is and it pisses me off looking at it. It's still a really comfy helmet tho :D

The Bauer 8000 is the only helmet out there that even comes remotely close to fitting the width of my head, so that's what I wear. It would be nice to be able to play hockey some day and actually have something that felt close to comfortable on my head though.
