ist nhl game

Recommended Posts

my 1st nhl game was nashville predators vs the avalanche.

i got a puck from one of the colorado players as they were walking into the locker room. The best part of the game was that we were the 1st row behind the colorado bench, and roy didnt play, so i got to see him the whole game, except their was plexiglass between him and me.

the 2nd game i went to was messiers "last game"i also set right behind the bench.. Ive only been to 2 game

what was the 1st nhl game u went to?

Colorado at Chicago. Great seats (but not for $75). Forsberg and Ozolinsh were my Fav players. Of course Colorado loss, but for the last five years I go to see them play Chicago twice a year.

The funny thing was that I never saw Colorado win in Chicago untill a year or two ago.

I now have spread to seeing the Avs in St. Louis and Minnesota. Two of the Best stadiums I have ever been in! The Excel Energy Center Kicks Butt!!!

Boston at Philly circa 94. Sat upstairs behind the goal the flyers shot on twice. Tommy Soderstrom in net for Philly, Casey for Boston. Neely had 2 goals i think. It was a first date with a chick who I met at my cousin's wedding.

Montreal at Washington in the old Cap center in Landover MD. This was back in the mid 80's when I didn't really know anything about hockey. It was the first time the caps beat Montreal in a long time.

thats still 3hrs away

That sucks! the hawks are about 1hr away from me, but St. Louis is 5 and St. Paul is about 5 as well. I think it is just all about Costs and Benefits. There is no way I would travel 5 hours to pay the prices I have to in Chicago. But it is worth it to me to go to St. Louis.

Detroit vs. Vancouver, probably 1978 or so, in the old Olympia. I was only 3, so I really don't remember much about the game other than the fact that I was there.

Detroit vs. Winnipeg at the Joe... likely '84 or '85

Yzerman scored on a crazy angle - almost on the goal line about 15 feet from the net after stringing the goalie along. The group I was with had locked the keys in the bus and since I was the smallest kid I got put through a window to open the bus up... My two memories of the game.

Chicago at Vancouver. I don't remember the year exactly, I want to say '95. I used to love Chicago, back when they were good and had Chelios, Amonte, Belfour, Suter, Roenick, Daze, Murphy, and Probert. Strangely enough, I was most excited to see Bernie Nicholls. Chicago won 4-2.

Philly @ Chicago; Lindros was my favorite player and the Flyers were my team at the time, but what an experience it was, halfway through the 1st or 2nd period...I don't remember, but Lindros got a game for boarding. Let's just say the game ended well, Flyers won.

Toronto at Detroit. Even though the Leafs won 3-1, the greats seats we had made up for it. They were Like one row behind the Red Wings bench. I got to see Yzerman!

Ducks vs Sabres in Anahiem, 2002 - first time in a city with an NHL team. Sabres smashed the Ducks. Gratton looked good in that game - had a lot of presence. Hardly anyone there, and more Sabres jerseys in the crowd than Ducks jerseys.

Then I went up to Vancouver to see two Canucks games, including a 2-2 draw to the Oilers in a packed house.

The first game I remember was either Toronto vs. NJ or Toronto vs. Buffalo. I was very young when I saw both and I remember very little. I just loved the out of town scoreboard at MLG because it was really all I could see. It was hard for me to see over the guys head. I think I was around 6 maybe 7 at my first game.
