My favorite gloves before my heliums were the R2s that only had softer single density foam.

Were they 13" or 14"? If they were 14", you might want to have yourself a little looksie.

I might not work for TPS anymore, but, I do know the difference between single and dual density foams. :D

I would say that if you can get those Oakleys for 60 bucks than go for those. they are game ready fit and are the most comfortable pair of gloves i've ever tried on/ used.

I retired the one pair because of a cut to the finger and the foam in there was only single density. I didn't check the other pair.

honest to god, the 8ks that i tried on at my LHS were by far the best gloves, ever.  the mobility right off the bat was amazing every part of the glove, and it's got dual density AND poly inserts, so i guess protection is covered.  the pittards palm is okay, i think thin  nash feels better, but the only real downside is the $220 CDN price tag... YIKES! :o

Just to clarify on the RBK 8K glove, there is actually Armfoam EPP (as opposed to dual density foam) covered by plastic inserts.

EPP is lighter and has superior protection properties since it is a material made out of many tiny little cells (beads). This way the force of impacts get passed from bead to bead thus dispersing the impacts and limiting the force felt on the hand.

With foam protection the impact is localized to one area and since it is not spread out, the force on the hand can be higher.

In tests we have done in the lab, EPP by itself (No plastic inserts) offers better protection than Dual Density Foam WITH Plastic Inserts.

I have a couple quick questions, I'm still trying to fill the void for gloves... and I think I've narrowed it down.

Muskoka ZR 790

Oakley Mace

Bauer Supreme 5000 prostock

is the oakley mace a nice glove? I can get those in the colors I need them for a great price, unlike the supreme, who I have to order in coyotes colors, then paint the blue over the green. Also, how about muskokas, how do those feel in terms of weight?

And a quick question for JR. I know you ordered custom gloves before you left the store, but did you also do work on gloves? Or would you only order/send them out. Because one way or another I may need custom colors for gloves.

Curious, how much of that $220 cdn is taxes? That seems very high price for that glove

i could have gotten the maces, but i really hated them, but thats my opinion.

i would say muskoka, very comfortable

also, if you were to get bauer vapors, the XX are more comfortable then the XXX.

What didn't you like about the maces, I don't have anywhere I can really try them on at, so is there a glove they fit similar to?

I wear vapor XX right now, but am having protection problems, mainly in the thumb, but the 5000 did a great job. I broke my thumb in dec 03, and my school trainer told me it was just jammed, then I kept messing it up later in the season and the trainer said I probally broke it <_< . Anyhow, is the thumb on muskotas as protective as the thumb on 5000's or something similar?

No, just custom gloves.

I *might* have that set up in the future again.

Knowing I can't get my scheme again, I'm almost paranoid about using them now =( I figure if I had to, HGTs wouldn't be that far off of a fit. Either that or I'd go to, ugh, Eagle.

That is entirely personal preference. I've had both, and find the XXX's to be 10x as comfy.
