Help me to determine my one90 size!

Recommended Posts

Hello guys!

I am actually playing (in France - Second division) with Vapor XX (7-D). I want to buy some skates one90 on the net (Euro is strong).

What size should I take? (I am sorry but I've written many mails to the store and I've got many different answers). Feel free to indicate the percentage about "how sure you are" about your answer.

What about Vapor XXXX. Same size of my Vapor XX?

Please help me, boys!

Antoine

(I cannot go in my local stores, because they don't have my size (probably 6 or 6.5).

I'm 100%

You would require a 6.5. But, what I am not 100% sure of is if the XX 7Ds fit you correctly or that the ONE90 would even work for your foot.

Just go by the holder size. mm don't lie.

get them a little smaller than you would with other skates.. i'm a 12-13 in shoes, a 10.5 in my old G5's and a 9.5 in my new One90's!

6.5. Go to below URL,

http://www.nikebauer.com/index.cfm

then go to One90 specs, click on FIT TIPS

Some key tips to consider when fitting the One90 skate include:

1. Size Selection – Due to the revolutionary 3D lasting process, the

Supreme One90 runs approximately a half-size (1/2) larger than the Vapor

XXX skate. For example, a size 8 Vapor XXX skate would equal a size 7.5

Supreme One90.

2. Overall Fit – The Supreme One90 will fit closer to the foot in both the

heel/ankle area as well as the mid and forefoot. This fully integrated fit

profile allows for greater feel for the ice and an increase in energy transfer

with every stride.

3. Quarter Construction – As a result of the patented 3D lasting process,

there is more shape built into the Supreme One90 quarter panel which

allows the foot to fit securely in the boot and at the same time flex freely.

To achieve these important benefits, the facing is built with less wrap

Sorry to buck the trend of everyone saying go down 1/2 size but I've worn the same 9.0 size from Bauer 7000, Vapor XX, Vapor XXX to the One90.

Then you dont have the right size skates on!

If the guy that makes the skates says they fit 1/2 smaller and he makes the skates how is he wrong and you right?

Take out your insole snap a picture of it and post it here.

I got 50 says its to big!

JR you want to side bet here CHADD??

No one's foot is the same, and not everyone wants the exact same fit.

Exactly. I tried 8.5 in the One90s as Nike/Bauer suggested and my toes were crammed up front. The manufacture gives general guidelines for fit---but they can't cover everyone's foot shape and preference in skate fit. If I remember correctly people were saying to go down 1/2 size from XX to XXX--not for me.

I am right because the base or outsole of the skate is longer. Basically the skate is a half size larger than the other Bauers.

That and the same guy JR deals with the man that invented the skate and how it is made and why explained it to me.

I just get miffed at why people would waist money on skates that if fitted properly insist on going with "what feels good" when they are on here and read all the information that is basically direct from the factories!

Its all good......to each his own......I just know if I am buying my kid skates I am getting a lesser valued skate that fits perfect till he grows!

Did that with my daughter now she can have what ever she wants.

She liked S-15's so she got them. BUT they fit tight and properly.

The have Superfeet (soon to be the new Yellow Superfeet.

The are Profiled and sharpened properly.......next to your helmet...

Skates are the most important and the most expensive part of your gear....take the time and do it right......

ok done ranting.....JR delete if you want......and buddy with the One90's sorry not really meant to be directed at you!

Did you try Superfeet in the skates?

I would have heated them for you before moving you up personally.......Sounds to me like you play high end hockey and would want you to have the best fit possible.

If you did Superfeet and did a slight heat with 8.5 and the 9 was still better then I would bet 100 that your other skates were to big!

Again sorry for the rant.....wasnt directed at you in particular!

If the bet is on someone having the right size skates, I never take that action. Less than 1/3 of the customers I had were properly sized before coming into my shop.

For whatever reason I've always been able to wear the same size across the board between Graf, CCM and Mission. That's why I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt when he claims he wears the same size over different models, no need to have a BM over it.

Those skates don't fit the same in the same size. I know, I've worn them all.

Fair enough, but for just a rec player, they haven't caused me any problems (pain, discomfort) at these sizes. In some cases I had to buy half sizes up or down from what I wanted due to limited choice at the place they were purchased.

Does the C width in the One90 affect the length of it compared to a D width in it ?

Absolutely.....

I think thats how you spell it.....LOL

It would make it feel smaller.

about a 1/4 to 1/2 size! Hence that would have been a major reason why they might not have felt right!

Your in the SAG? wow your really not that far from a ton of good stores on your side or across the border!

I would be heading to a shop with better selection or better fit knowledge if I were you even if it is Rec.....th better the fit the better you play.....

Look at my Avatar.....lol....not every day (the photographer gets the credit) you look like a pro skating at the Bell Center!
