Maybe you need to work on your rebound control, particularly if they aren't going that far away. There can't be any rebound attempts if you don't leave any or direct them away from danger. Something to think about: who is the better or more effective goalie - the one who makes the highlight reel third or even fourth rebound save or the one who doesn't leave 3 or 4 rebounds?

Hi Aireaye. I very much respect your opinion on this, and in fact, agree very much which is why our team implemented a change. It's really about a long term view. I came into my role at CCM 18 months ago, and thought the sizing differences in the industry were actually ridiculous, let alone the differences between the skates of our brand. There's no reason for a player to fit as an 8.5 in one brand, and an 8 in the other. So, our team implemented a sizing change starting with the Tacks 2016 where we moved up 0.5 on sizing, and we will do the same with the 2017 product lines. This is short term "painpoint" for long term clarity for all hockey players. We will be communicating this very clearly to consumers and retailers so that come 2017, all of the most popular skates in the industry will have the same sizing.

Drop-in Report: I played against mini-MacInnis today. Fack me!!!!! Every shot he took against me STUNG, made HUGE noise on the glass and made the goal SING that familiar E flat "tink" of a goal post a whole note (okay, maybe exaggerating a whole note); bloody fackin hell- he has a HEAVY, HEAVY shot!!!!!! He found every stinger spot on my CA (which was anywhere he shot), popped it over the stick blade when shooting my 5 hole (and I have the dents to prove it) and managed to ding my jaw bone and the top of my knee cap (fack me). Every shot against my Factory Mad knee guards were a non-event until mini MacInnis came along. That was in the non-scrimmage part. The scrimmage was challenging, to say the least because we had bonafide benders to mini MacInnis (and every type between). One bloke shot low-speed knuckle ball shots that were vexing, to say the least. One would wind up to compete with mini MacInnis and those shots would be weakly elevated to well above the goal. But the bar I normally go to apres' hockey stepped up fine, as the tender happily provided me an ice bag for both my knee and my face. The beer tasted very good.

Season starts Wednesday and I didn't have to try out. So I'll have a goalie spot again, which is good. What's not is the other team that I play out for now told me today the other guy got hurt and is out for the season. So they want me to play goal. I don't really know if I want to play goal twice a week and only skate out once. So now I'm stuck again. Why can't this ever be easy?!

Because of my position as CCM representative, I don't want to compare the two products, it would sound too "marketingy" anyways. What i can do is show you a raw and untouched example of how i punched a skate out during a testing phase, to see how responsive the carbon fiber skate materials were to heat molding. Again, this was just a lab test to see how far we can push the materials, it wasn't an actual punch for any player. Send me your email by direct message and i'll show you. I don't think i can post a picture on this thread (unless I'm completely clueless on how to do so...) JS

Got my new sticks from True Hockey. Won them on the Free Gear Friday a little while back!
