Hello,
With Mission's Hi-Lo patent having expired in 2016 (http://blog.inlina.com/2012/03/08/a-brief-history-of-hi-lo-inline-skates/), do you believe other manufacturers will start producing skates with this frame setup?
I totally geeked out on Saturday. We had a chance to watch warmups from the glass (we have not really had a chance this year to make it to games early) and I noticed that 3 guys on the Utica Comets are using VH skates. I start telling my kid (who is 6) and he just looks back at me like "settle down old man" lol
The KHL All-Star Weekend is like a VH Parade:
Pavel Francouz, Ryan Stoa, Francis Pare, and Brandon Kozun.
And there are at least a few more: Afinogenov, Gilroy, etc.
There is no doubt that some parents put a lot pf pressure on their kids. And there also no doubt that some kids don't put enough pressure on themselves. There is always a continuum.
As a high school AP I cannot condone supporting the notion that not graduating HS is ok and that your grades do not matter. While there are many people who succeed without a diploma or college degree the odds are not in your favor at all. In fact you stand to lose a tremendous amount of money if you do not graduate HS. Similarly the higher your degree the more money you are likely to earn.
So... there is a payoff to doing better. Is it absolute, no. Do you need to get a 3.5. No. But the more competitive the field or graduate school it helps. Does it matter after your first job or two and after you have established a professional track record - unlikely; but how hard you work and how well you do does matter.
