Actually, no, it was perfect. (We had a couple of situations in which someone wasn't using the Multi-Quote option.)

Does anyone else find it odd that with a 3D scan of your feet they seem to have so many issues, yet they were able to nail it back when you just sent them an outline and some photos?

Update: Just spoke with Korey from True (super nice and knowledgeable guy!) who confirmed they'll remake the skates for me, as I did everything they asked me to try first to no avail. I inquired into the "pro fit" question, which he said is absolutely a thing available, just by request. (So you have to know about it) He said it's typically something you're asked about at your intial scanning and order submission, and he sounded genuinely shocked when I said nothing even remotely close was asked of me regarding different "fit types" during my scanning. I'll definitely do what you did @Nicholas G, note the hell out of everything and ensure this next set comes out as I expected. Korey requested I go back to Pure Hockey and snap photos again on their board, just so they can cross reference when they make the new pair. Sounds like they're going to go over it with a fine-tooth comb this time around! But the process was absolutely painless, quick discussion and they're all about making it right. Can't ask for more than that!

We're working with the venue to possibly change it back to July 27th.

I mean, do they feel high-end?

Yes. There's a reason why many skating coaches in the NHL are former professional figure skaters. Figure skaters, in broad terms, are very good at controlled mechanics and skating efficiency. (you have to be if you're going to skate for 3-5 plus minutes at full speed, meanwhile doing jumps, spins, etc) A lot of kids, growing up playing hockey only learn to get from point A to point B; who cares how you get there as long as you get there as fast as you can. Figure skaters get from point A to point B as fast as they can, with a great amount of control and efficiency. That's the big difference. I find the biggest issue with learning to figure skate with boys/men is the social stigma, but I see it less in hockey circles now with all these former figure skaters being hockey coaches. But still, there's many who are embarrassed to have themselves or their sons take figure lessons, and sadly a lot of hockey players would greatly benefit from them. There's some great videos on the web that showcase figures skaters dealing with hockey skating mechanics. Here's one with Barbara Underhill improving the efficiency of Brian Boyle's stride: Another of Barbara Underhill doing a demo for hockey coaches: And for fun, here's one with Bret Hedican (who was an excellent skater) and his wife Kristi Yamaguchi, and compared to Yamaguchi, you'd think Hedican couldn't skate. (I know...they're doing moves he's probably never done before and with practice, he'd probably be pretty good at them)

It's all about the guys in the locker room. Win or lose the guys on my team have become my best friends and I look forward to seeing them.

First off, thank you for supporting MSH! We are approaching our 15th year of being the largest resource of hockey equipment discussion on the Web, and we’ve achieved great things as a community. However, one of the biggest things that a community must do is constantly evolve. Nowadays, it is important to be active on social media channels as well as video content; life moves fast and people consume media differently. Not that there isn’t anything wrong with forums per se, but it is time that we evolve into a position that we can offer all of those options. So we’ve designed a new front end that will highlight the content we create, yet provide an easy way to move on to /forums for a deeper dive. We will be highlighting product reviews and articles that will be strictly on this side of the site; posts that we create as well as some of our members’ creations. If you would like to contribute to our article bank, don’t hesitate to send me a PM or email me at admin@modsquadhockey.com. Let us know what you think!
