2 points100% Id almost rather use crappy Bauer factory laces. Besides, when was the last time anyone had issues with their lace tips?? Get some Howies and be done with it.

1 pointAren't all the Tacks the same basic fit and design? If you liked the AS1, why not look at something 1 or 2 levels down? Or do you need absolute bullet-proof protection?

1 pointWhat I found more interesting is that Crosby and Ovechkin use the same gear that they've had for years and the only changes appear to be new straps, shoulder caps that meet the the league regulations, etc.

1 pointI was bummed by it too. I’m guessing it has to do with the number of people on the set being reduced or something like that. You can still listen to the live radio feed (I use the TuneIn Radio app) or download the podcast.

1 pointI disagree that Elite has the best laces. They are one of the worst IMO. The amount of wax they have is absurd. Most of it accumulates on the eyelets. Never bake a skate with Elite waxed laces unless you want it to melt all over your hands. Their laces are also very thin, which rolls more than other brands. I like that they have molded tips but that's about it.
