From my experiences in lockerooms, lots of guys think of profiling essentially as: guy A: “my new steel is so tall and I keep catching the her and toe” Guy B: “the shop can grind down your blades to match the weird messed up shape of your old blades.“ They know the new steel has too much heel and toe for them, but rather than making any adaptations or learning what profiling actually is, they want the new $100+ runners to be shaped to the same ugly banana radius the shop mangled their old blades too. It’s like they have just enough info to completely confuse and misunderstand what it actually is.

What is it that you would want to ask the Skate Product Manager at CCM. I picked up a pair of the ASV Pro skates this year because I wanted to compare the skate (features and performance) against my current Ultrasonics. I really liked the performance of the one-piece boot, but unfortunately for me a developed a painful mid-foot bone spur in them that didn't resolve with a boot punch. I attributed it to the stiffness of the skate. I was extremely disappointed as I really wanted this skate to work for me. It's just TOO stiff, which my be why very few pros are in it. To me Bauer's fit system is far better than CCM's. I found the regular fit Tacks to be wider and deeper than a Fit 3 Bauer. Can't imagine what the wide is like?

It wasn't supposed to be "better" than what they currently have, it was supposed to be different and going back to a mid kick. The Novium isn't great, and the weight is WAY off from their advertised weight (and not close to tolerances). But it is a completely different kick point option than what they had before, too bad they didn't just updated the HD1 stick though.

Just to follow-up with this. 100% clear silicone worked perfect for adding grip to the insoles. I used GE brand specifically for bath and tub if it makes any diff. I find there is a difference in quality between brands even if they are all 100% silicone.

I think as long as the cost if under $75 it's worth it. Once the cost goes northward of $100 it's a waste. With shop wholesale cost I can get a brand-new pair of retail gloves for $85. In my situation, I really like these Easton GSX gloves that came from the LA Kings. They have 3-piece fingers + thumbs, backhand is very flexible., and the cuff is short and flared. This specific pair also has Poron in the backhand sicne they were made after Bauer acquired Easton.
