200 degrees, 16 mins for both, not 8 each side. Also, 16 min is preferred, 10 mins is for shops who want to cut corners.

haha, 2 yrs of sharpening and they still have all their height on them. You could probably pass those down from generation to generation. :-)

The bolts rest on the holder's plastic, if tightened too much the head of the bolt can sink in. But looking at the bolts inside the bigger hole around them, the front one sits further in than the rear one. I checked 3 pairs, all are the same so that's normal.

Some shops lie and tell you they do the FBV when they actually don't. They don't want to lose your business. This could be why you may not feel any difference. First thing I would do is check to see if you are actually getting the real FBV. Then getting it done correctly is a whole other issue.

They need 2 spinners, one for the left, one for the right. 14 different settings available. I agree totally, just try it, if you like it better, there you go. Study complete.

Tomorrow I'm putting LS2's on a pair for a MSH member. He's only changing them because he has $500 of lifetime Titanium steel in LS2. But I'm sure he'll post how they feel after he skates on them.

Easton says when they are cool, so I'd say 1 hr. When I went to the Mako event, they baked 50 pairs while we were going thru the lectures, then we immediately went on the ice.

Way too much emphasis on equipment managers. Just ask Ray Martinique, the only 1st round draft pick who never made it to the NHL because his equipment manager thought he new better about how Ray should have his skates sharpened than Ray wanted. I recently atteneded an outing where a x-NHL manager sharpened 50 pairs of skates for the event, and most skaters were falling and slipping from the poor job. Some managers are experienced and do a good job, others not so well, and others who are old school and not willing to change.

The BFD is different than the real FBV, so it would be interesting to see a independent study. I've done my own study, 6000 switched to FBV, only 10 went back to hollow cuts. :-)

You are absolutely correct. A perfect example is just today I received a pair in the mail with a radius order and the customer selected an aggressive pitch. Not sure if he knew these already had an aggressive pitch on them (when combined with the rear tower), but I can imagine if I radiused them with more pitch, the skater would likely be having significant problems. I emailed him and am waiting to hear back.

At the training I went to last Thurs, Dave specifically mentioned that the stiffness level decreased in accordance with sizing, so while the juniors are made of same material, their stiffness will not be the same as the seniors.

Was that the study that was funded by Blademaster?

If you are asking if any aftermarket steel is available for this skate, the answer is not yet.

Only as a goalie skate, but I had zero problems skating from bench to the net. ;-)

Pitch is just one part of the profile, so with the CXN, depending on the skater, no additional pitch would be added. You can still get your 9' as usual.

I was thinking the opposite, those with LS2's could ditch those for the CXN, better performance, better attachment system, better steel.

Here's a pic of the rear towers of the Mako holder and the LS2 (both size 9's). Measured front to back, the Mako has approx .5 degree more pitch in the holder than the LS2. The Mako steel measured by itself has 1 degree forward lean. Sorry, I don't have a new unsharpened LS2 runner to measure. Also, Mako holes line up exact with LS2.

Well, got to skate on mine yesterday for 1.5hrs, all I can say is I couldn't tell I had a skate on. I was nervous coming from a softer boot skate to these, but they were perfect.
