Rivet issues with composite skates?
steelnation248 replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Thanks again for helping me with my skates, @JR Boucicaut. I'm in Metro Detroit so I made the trip to Windsor to get my True skates made. I had the skates come drilled for Tuuks but the store installed them. I had noticed some issues with the copper rivets that JR helped me out with as well. I hadn't noticed the steel rivet issues. It's pretty crazy that was done by, what I'm almost positive was, a manager at one of the largest Canadian chains. I am lucky enough that JR is local to me and was able to help me out with the skates! -

Hey Malcolm, is that "big toe" version as open or less open than the one pictured here?

I'll throw my hat in the ring as another vote for a few mentioned above: Kovalchuk pro, Kovalev pro (or Perron pro if you need a righty / can't mirror the Kovy), P10, and Gionta would be awesome!

Base Hockey shafts, blades and new features
steelnation248 replied to Stephen7's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Is there a set price for the tapered shafts yet? I'll also throw my hat in the ring and say that a Kovalev (although mirrored to righty) and the closed mid-toe curve would definitely be an awesome option!- 114 replies

I might know someone who has some they'd move. Let me ask them and I'll let you know.

I usually stay away from overseas Warriors but the All Star gloves went perfectly with my jerseys.

The price depends on what else you want done to the gloves. For example, if you need new palms, it's easier for Pat so it's cheaper. I remember they gave me three prices for stuff depending on what I wanted done. You can email Pat and he can go over the options for you or you can PM and I can try to find the price rundown in my email. He took apart the gloves, replaced the tufftek with the carbon then re-assembled the gloves as far as I know. His work is great. It's like having a whole new set of custom gloves with exceptional quality.

Talk to Jesse. He's helped me out with my orders. I've done 3 or 4 orders with him now and he's fantastic to deal with.

Picked up this shell a little bit ago and I wanted to add a little color to it and cover up the fangs on the side. Amateur stitching here so don't hate. Before: After: The setup inspiration:

It looks like the spine pad off of a pair of CCM pants.

Base Hockey BC71 Malkin Curve
steelnation248 replied to itslunchtime's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Right. Why spend that much on a mold then just stop making it after X amount of time? -
Yeah, that's what he told me when they first went over. They still look awesome though!
-
The skates are looking good, Junior! Glad you finally got them back and as envisioned!

Catalogue Review 2015 Bauer Hockey Catalogue
steelnation248 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2015 Product Catalogue Reviews
How does the IMS5.0 fit in them? Same price point as the 4500? I figured it replaced the 2100 due to its location on the chart.
