As the risk of sounding like an un-approving father at the christmas dinner table... what do you do with a psychology degree? Is there generally a direct path to a job, or do you need to specialize in something first? I can't imagine you'd be able to go straight from college to having your own practice or something, right?
-
Ah, can't help you much there. Sorry!

VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne
IPv6Freely replied to dsjunior1388's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
He does do in-person 3D moulding for his speed skates. I wonder if he would do moulds for ice skates too, if you're local (or willing to travel). Has anyone asked? As somebody mentioned before (in this, or another thread) the possibilities now with 3D printing to generate 100% custom lasts for "cheap" are going to make custom fitting skates a really interesting market in the near future, i would think. -
What did you study?

Is football more exciting in person? I imagine it would be, but I've never been to a game just because of how slow it is on TV

Jeebus! That just looks flat out unsafe!

Won the club championship in my first season curling :) Obviously it was all my teammates, but it was nice to at least not be a liability :) Edit: Received this bad boy. My first trophy since I was 17! haha

Indeed!

WTF housekeeping apparently took the minibar key when they cleaned my hotel room today, for some reason? GFY!

I have Noicing put "the sauce" on my blades. I honestly have no idea what it actually is (so not 100% sure it's relevant to this thread), but either it works or I have one hell of a placebo effect going on. I'm not a fast guy by ANY stretch of the imagination, but the first game after putting fresh runners on I feel like I'm flying. Maybe a case of post hoc ergo propter hoc going on here for me, but for the dollar or whatever it is, I'll keep doing it.

I'll give them a chance, but I'll still keep a lookout for the old version as well :)

Adding to the stockpile. This is the first pair of the grey/blue model I've had. I don't like it nearly as much as the white model (these are much more bulky, and I don't care for the elbow cap) but still infinitely better than anything else I've managed to find.

Having lived in Norcal, OC and SD, I actually find the weather to be slightly nicer in Orange County, than in San Marcos. But we're just splitting hairs now... I'd agree, too hot in San Marcos. Ideally we'd be in Carlsbad.

It's the Day of the Doctor!!! :D

Well that didn't take long... I'm out. But at least the new NEW company is pretty awesome and worth posting about in the sweet spot thread :D First day is Dec 2.

I tried them once with superfeet (since they made night and day improvement in previous skates) and it just didn't feel very good. But hey, feel free to try. But maybe it would be a good idea to get them baked with them since the position of your heel is going to change slightly? I figure it can't ever hurt to try. Well, it COULD hurt physically, I suppose... lol.

You win this thread. And that gives me an idea for a new thread...

I agree, I was a Large in all my other elbow pads and a Medium in the 2010 projekts. I've never tried the 2012 model. Actually, crap.. I just realized I bought mediums in those easton pros. I guess we'll see when they arrive tomorrow...
-
I do :) althoma1 is exactly right. I'm on my second pair of Projekts (due to the stitching coming apart in my first pair after I tried to pull them off without undoing the straps) and have two brand new pairs waiting to be used. All the white 2010 model. I just bought a pair of those Easton Pro elbows to give them a try, since the Projekts are discontinued and I've found nothing even remotely close to being as comfortable. But I'm definitely good for a while. That was my thought when I tried them. I found them to be bulky, or to be more precise they simply felt like I was actually wearing elbow pads. The projekts you can't even tell you're wearing them. Based on the photos on IW I was expecting them to feel very similar (they sure LOOKED similar), but not. even. close.
-
Thanks, Krev. I'll have a look around for those. The new Warrior AX elbows looked similar in construction but were not even remotely the same feeling when actually on. Edit: Are these the ones youre talking about? http://www.icewarehouse.com/descpage.html?pcode=EPROEP

I tried the elbows and they weren't for me. I'm still trying to find something to replace the Projekts (discontinued) I wear now. Luckily I bought as many clearance pairs as I could find, so I should be good for a while.

very nice. Good call going with the Eastons. I was a bit shocked with them. Went into the store fully expecting to buy CCM CL and ended up not liking them. These were ridiculously comfortable. Like WOW comfortable. And the fact that the knee cap actually bends away from the shin was fantastic for mobility. I was previously in Nexus1000 which were a nice shape, but man I hated the scratchy liner.
