  1. I’m having an issue of Tydan blades not fitting into 288 edge holder. There’s a sizable gap between the blades and the holder in the front. I tried other steel and that was fine. The steel says 288XL and the holders are 288
  2. Height - 6'3" Weight - 240 lbs Pad size - 15 inch Level of play: B/C Level Location: Massachusetts Fit - 10/10 I was looking for a pad that wasn’t as bulky as the old reeboks and jofa pads. In the past I’ve used the Supreme One90 shin guard and the Nexus 8000 shin guard. I was looking for a pad that was in between both those fit profiles and the xf pro fit that criteria for me My leg fits properly in the shin channel and does move around a all when strapped I don’t wear shin tape either so these fit my socks very well If you don’t have skinny legs these are the pads for you Protection: 10/10 The XF Pro shin is a tank . The plastic and padding is perfect, for pucks coming straight on. I have taken a few ice pucks (hard shots) straight on and did not feel anything. Durability - 10/10 After about 10 ice sessions there’s no signs of wear and no signs of scratches I love the fit and finish of these pads. Over the next few months I will really put them through their paces Intangibles 10/10 Everything in the XF pro shin pad has been thought out. The improved strapping system has been thought out and add a new level of customization for the player. You are able to move the pads to fit you needs easier then ever Conclusion The XF Pro Shin guard is the ultimate choice for an elite player looking for maximum projection and maximum function. From top to bottom, the XF pro has elite level protection with an abdominal fit to give the player the edge Overall score - 50/50
  3. I’m looking at the ccm as-v and the Bauer supreme. The as-v looks less bulky than the tacks. Not sure though
  4. What’s the difference between the True catalyst vs. hzrdus skates?
  5. Does anyone know where to get a tint visor like nylander? Also is there a benefit to the levels of tint? I’ve seen some with the smoke tint and not very tinted. Also what’s the benefit of the pink tint? I am not talking about the mirror visor
  6. I was a big fan of the Easton thin socks. Does anyone know what the thinnest skate are? Looking for something extremely thin
  7. I had a european coach for power skating. One from russia and another from sweden. Its funny i get that its the "new way" but I never shot off the heel. I'm 40 now
  8. So am I the only one that shoots like this? since i was in 8th grade in 1998 to present i've always shot off my toe. I used the easton euro tip wood blade, and have transitioned to the kovalchuk pro stock curve since. the closed toe. I always would do a pull in curl snapshot/wrist shot probably in 1998 and still do to this day. We had a big basement and a shooting and net pad and I would always try new stuff. I would use the toe of my blade and create a sling shot type motion. I've been looking at other curves. Do you recommend changing curve or keeping the same?
  9. True skates do not last. I have had 5 pairs from VH - true time line
  10. Never heard of the the g75 and pk7900? Those are skates with modern tech
  11. Always Will find the process interesting no matter the company.
  12. Can someone help make a Warrior Pro Stock Pants guide? For example the Covert QRL and QRE don't fit the same so I think it would be helpful for a guide on changes made etc.
  13. https://www.prostockhockey.com/player-protective/pants/size-xl-warrior-covert-pro-pants-team-stock-calgary-flames-8/ If this is a duplicate post, please remove. Is it easy to remove stripes from pants? I haven't been able to find a pair of black QRL pants I really like.
  14. It’s crazy how big pure hockey is now. When I worked there, they only had 10 stores
  15. I have a pair of capitals qrl covert pants that are xl+1. They fit really well. I picked up a pair of covert qre senators pants size just xl but they have the zipper length adjustment. The qre pants are a lot tighter and shorter. I didn’t realize it would be that much of a difference, any recommendations? I got the pants from prostockhockey so I can’t return them
  16. I think it’s always interesting on the school of thought and particularly where you play on your shooting style. I was taught at a very young age to always shoot off my toe and I’m 40 now. Some places said shoot off the curve elsewhere. I was an early adapter of the Easton euro curve and later the euro tip. I always would do a pull in curl snapshot/wrist shot probably in 1997 or 1998 and still do to this day.
  17. That's really an old school mindset. The Kreps "p28" really isn't that big of a curve considering how widely used its is now. Brett burns for example uses a variant of the p28. A lot of players in europe use a kovalchuk or semin curve. I think its more of a factor of the european influence on the north american game. The p28 comes from the player kamil kreps who used the number 28. You probably already know that. I use a Kovalchuk/new Kovalchuk/Zherdev curve mixed that I had personally made. Lie 4
  18. Prostockhockeysticks. I use a kovalchuk big curve and the old thrasher kovalchuk cuve. Having PSHS makes finding the first that I like very easy
