  1. Moreover, on a biomechanical standpoint, you can't really bend forward or your knees too much, and being on your toes helps you doing that; so it's not too much of a risk you're taking.
  2. The thing that annoys me with this guy is that he does reviews that aren't any different to IW reviews, except he does them with an British accent. Meaning the skates will always look new, he'll never mention the flaws, and basically reads the manufacturer's description of the item.
  3. I used to use shoegoo but then realized it would be cheaper, safer (no solvant) and won't have any smell by using multi-purposes glue sticks that you heat up and apply with a stick gun. Some other guys use epoxy as well
  4. True enough, I haven't found many people not enjoying this skate, so I still believe they deserve to be well rated as I see many non-corrupted people swear by them, and I'm one of them.
  5. I couldn't agree with you more...
  6. listed on IW... can't wait to see them for real..
  7. no but I'm looking to buy a boot only so if you're interested in taking all the bottom half..shoot me a pm ^^
  8. I might be fool of saying such a thing, but with both mako and stealth line, I see a very bright future for easton. Now that all of their gear is out there, they just need to market it better and manage to have the max visibility from the nhl.
  9. Product: Revision Variant Steel 76mm Height: 6' 2" Weight: 185 Foot Size: 9.5 in the majority of Skates Level and use: 2-3 times a week, regular practice Background: Note that these wheels are set-up on a sprung chassis, augmenting their grip. Grip: 10/10 - As I use them on hard cement these wheels have enough grip to stop quickly but are not too grippy in a way that you can really feel when the wheel starts to slide. Really secure feel. Speed: 10/10 - That wheel is super fast and responsive. Durability: 10/10 - It's been 4 months since I started using them, and if washed the dust out of them I could still say that these are new, as I haven't rotated them yet and will do in only a month... However a friend who only weighs 100lbs did manage to make them suffer quite a bit by skating outside, so I wouldn't recommend these for outside skating at all. Looks: 10/10 - Low profile, I'm not the guy who shows off with his wheels so it doesn't matter to me. Value: 10/10 - Fair value in the US but 10€ is really steep in my opinion. On the other hand these have been flawless after 4 months so it's an investment well worth it. Overall Rating: 10/10 - I'm not sure I'm being really helpful with this review, but I love these and I may try out some other variant in the future but right now, I can't say enough good things about them. as long as you're not skating to the rink, you'll be fine
  10. I disagree, although the sizing chart was off, they're not that close to the bauer chart imo, I mean a size 9 mlx fit me like a size 10 in bauers... I'm a 9 1/4 in bauer, 8 1/4 in mlx and 9.5 in ccm...
  11. Definitely, g3 felt narrow all the way while g35 has more of a V shape/fit.
  12. Bauer Vapor X:50 Flex: 100 Curve: PM9 Stick'um Height: 6'1" Weight: 185 Postition: Beer league forward B-C Level (C-D last season though) Background: 1st higher end ops last year, was learning the game with pmpx9950, winnwell GX-7, eq20 before that. Used since: 28/08/11 - Today (minus the blade) Aesthetics: I like the look of that stick, not too flashy, but you still know what it is, love the Dark Grey/Orange colour scheme 10/10 Weight and Balance: When compared to the other stick I used, it's a very light stick, with a good light feel, definitely a high quality feel. 10/10 Blade: Overall good feel, good quality when passing, shooting, however after 1,5 months with 2hrs/week of play, the blade shattered and became unplayable, moreover, I haven't been rough on it, it shattered because of a standing slapshot at the blue line.. 7/10 Shaft/Flex: I have relatively large hands and I found the shaft quite small, doesn't bother me though although adding the thickest tackimac on the knob helped a lot with the feel and balance. Because this was one of the first times with a tad too stiff low-kick ops I have had troubles loading shots. And I don't like the fact that broken ops can't easily be repaired. 8/10 (not being available at 90-95 flex and too thin of a shaft) Stickhandling and Passing: Just like JR97 I'm not a slick stick handler, I like simple smart plays, using your brain by creating plays with team mates and I tend to be nervous when keeping the puck, therefore good skating, good passing and good shots. the x50/pm9 is great for passing that's the big + passes are always tight, precise and rarely wobbly, and that's something I really care for. 8/10 stickhandling (hard with a lie 5 pm9 big distance between the puck and the body, hard to receive a pass in your feet) 10/10 for passing. Shooting: I haven't taken full advantage of the low kick, I loved taking slapshots after getting used to the stick and the lower lie, Liked one timers, wristers...not so much, it seems like one stick can't manage both wristers & snappers and clappers, if one is good the other won't be. 8/10 Durability: That was my big disappointment with that stick, blade cracked and shattered after 1,5 month, I managed to put an st blade on the butt end, and obviously the kickpoint, balance, shot release really changed. Unacceptable blade durability at that price point imo. On the other hand, the shaft is still stiff (maybe drooped to a 95 stiffness with the reverse geometry and usage) and so far it doesn't appear to show any weak points.Durability: Blade: 0/5 Shaft:5/5 total: 5/10 Conclusion: The X:50 is a good stick, I would not get even close to be buying it anymore, I've had good performance out of it, the shaft structure is really holding on well, the stick'um hasn't gone anywhere, no cracks so far. If it was a Two Piece, yes I would buy it again, however, the good performance got shadowed by the poor blade durability. 66/80-8,25/10
  13. check the iw blog, they wrote a few lines about them. however I don't believe anybody can be too precise as nobody that I know of tried these...
  14. That machine was nothing but a compact regular electric oven you find in your kitchen.
  15. Well I've asked for a x8 flat bottom. you're probably right though. (I'm confused)
  16. boy, I must say that today I've asked my sharpener to profile my runner to a 7" radius and to sharpen it to a x8, god it was good!! never felt that fast! I could finally catch up guys as before with a longer radius, I just felt I couldn't get that level of performance. Learning everyday this is great!
  17. That post isn't really a Show it Off because I don't own them and am not planning on buying them, I was just amazed with how they looked delete if needed
  18. Just passing by to say that the outdoor wheels are decent, but they will melt down in the sun so although I haven't compared with labeda asphalt, I can tell you though that they don't really offer superior grip when comparing to 85a wheels, but you will get less durability out of them. I've used them for 3 days, and I've lost about half of the wheel as of now. I find the bearings to offer more bang for the buck than the wheels do. I do believe that hockeytron offers decent value for the price, but not durability (as of now in terms of wheels & bearings).
  19. just saying, bought a practice jersey, some socks, tape, outdoor wheels (with their abec 9 bearing) and their 2 $ wheel, sthe order was exact, and the quality seems decent, so except from the fact that they don't offer cheap shells, I'm a pretty camper as of now, will post feedback on the wheels in a month or so...
  20. niice setups.... Random Question, Did anybody drill holes on the toe cap to allow some air for the toes? (Reebok roller line, pre-bauer mission, and upcoming top of the line mission skates)
  21. Incroyable :P I live 2 blocks away from the grocery store... god I wish it was an arena instead!!!!!!!!! crazy colection, how do you like tackla gloves? how about the rs fit?
  22. gearing up process underway...

  23. 250$ for a hockey stick and 850$ for a pair of skates is the ultimate margin imo
