  3. I hate my job. My boss can't even conjure up the names of the people that work for him and there is only 16 employees at the hotel. Cant remember to get change for the cash drawer or the safe when he goes to the bank. Takes 3 days off work because he got some teeth pulled and the doctors note says he can even though when he stopped by he's talking up a storm and asking if anything is goin on for the hockey game. Created a lot more work for me to do that I don't get paid to take responsibility for. And this retard makes 15 k a year more than I do.
  4. Fedotenko is the new mustache boy
  5. For having a healing broken finger and wearing a splint under his glove, MAF is playing terrific I think.
  6. Guerin must be okay. Wonder what they're gonna do about Goddard... cut him? haha :)
  7. Fleury looked great last night. The second goal was a bit of a stinker that snuck in there but he made plenty of strong saves. I doubt Connor gets more than a cup of coffee with the Pens this year but who knows with injuries. Anybody have articles on gogo and or billy G injury status? Glove save what a beauty!
  8. Okay, thats freakin hilarious. Congrats Mack ;)
  9. I love this article. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_663811.html Glad to see a big win posted over Philly, hope it gives some momentum and can continue and get another win over the Rangers tonight. Really hoping to see MAF in the cage.
  10. Fleury should get the start today as John Curry was sent down to Wilkes Barre (WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO BUH BYE!) Big fun game today I hope :) Maybe they'll heed the words of wisdom put forth here and go simple on the PP. I saw an article that Malkin was saying that he really liked playing with Nick Johnson because Johnson is right handed..exactly what some of ya'll were talkin about.
  11. They've tried some different stuff with Malkin on the half wall or the point, sid and malkin on the ice at the same time etc. I dunno. I think Kunitz injury really hampers them because he would be the guy infront and he's got good hands in tight.. Letang has to find his scoring touch and get more pucks on goal. Jordan Staal set up in front I think would be good. I think it may have gotten to much to the point where they look for the perfect play. I want to see them with one or two quick passes low to half wall, to point for a shot with traffic infront. If theyre pressuring the point, have Sid throwing passes through the slot down low with people crashing. I don't like the play they try with the player up in the high slot area. It seems like they very rarely get the puck to the player, and if they do it seems like most of the shots are junk. I dunno, its hard to sit here and say whats wrong with all those skilled players but sometimes I feel like they should just pound it at the net with Gonchar, Malkin, Letang, then let Crosby, Kunitz, Guerin, Staal sweep up trash.. I know if the PP was better than what it is we'd probably be looking plenty better points wise.
  12. Fleury optomistic to play Sunday Pens raise $34,000 for Haiti http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...=rss&feed=8 I thought they were saying last night that Fleury tried his new glove in the morning skate and had alot of pain, and that they needed to do work on the glove, hence him not playing last night. Sid and Geno lookd pretty good last night, both doin some 1 on 3's and coming out succesful, hope that continues for them :) Dupuis, Talbot, Kuniz, Fleury, does this count as injury bug round 2 for the Pens? :( side note, Ryan Malone is killing it down in Tampa...now I'm wishing we coulda fit him in somehow. :(
  13. The game was great last night. Theodores brainfart gave the Pens some momentum that was lacking early and the game was great through two periods. It was very exciting and I really enjoyed it when the physical play picked up there alittle bit especially around the Orpik hit on Ovechkin and then Knubile on Orpik that ratched up the play a bit. The officiating I thought was okay, my main thing is if you let them battle in the first, let them battle in the third. That call on Guerin for interference I thought (of course with my bias) wasn't something that should have been called considering everything they let go throughout the game. All in all a bad 5 minute sequence killed the Pens last night, but a post and a bar and we may have had a real highscoring game on our hands. I'm really excited for the game on Sunday, which I believe is in DC right? Also it seemed like Ovi/Malkin and Ovi/Crosby as far as the battling and jaw jacking never really got off the ground much last night. I kinda missed that :) Oh last thouht, Semins' dish pass to Fleischmann... :o :o
  14. Plus I'd venture Sid and Geno get beat up a little worse than most. Resting star players is nothing new. Colts in the NFL this year? Bylsma regularly gives guys 'maintenance days' throughout the season as he calls them, typically not making them practice every now and then. In my opinion its smart to do now, and smart to do later even sitting certain games if your in a good position in the standings.
  15. Oh yes Thursday will be entertaining :) Me too man, me too. I hope to see a highscoring barn burner myself :) 7-5 Pens, Malkin and Ovie with hattys ;)
  16. Islanders are a playoff team right now, as of course you know Rise. However, depending on where the Pens sit in the points and whatnot, it might not be bad to rest them against the Redwings or any other western conference team where its not a 4 point game. Its early to predict whats gonna happen but can't count anybody out yet. Some guys just have the ability to get through the regular season and light it up post season with a whole new level..
  17. I think its caught up with them. I didnt think it would be that bad cause the team is so young but how else can you explain the lackluster play? Hopefully they're keeping something in the tank while staying n the playoff picture.. but I dunno. Also cool to note the kid goali was wearing MAFs pads due to NHL regulations or something, so he was even more impressive considering it wasn't even his gear he was playing in, atleast not all of it.
  18. Fleury will not play until late next week. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662661.html Also notes about Johnson, Orpik, the new kid goalie included in the link as well. Some of these columnists are considering trying to get Peter Sykora back to play with Malkin because of their decent chemistry. Geno just looks tired, wore out. His shoulder was bothering him, but I wonder if its worse than they let on. It sucks to say Malkins having a bad year, but for him he pretty much is. Malkin article http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662655.html Maybe Sid just got mad at everyone saying he wasn't the Pens best player last season :P
  19. I'm sure most of us had a sense of foreboding heading into the game but damn, Curry has to do something. That goal from behind the goalline, what a nutbuster. Props to the kid though, he'll have a story to tell forever. He makes a little cash, gets everyones autograph and heads home. Nice. I hope the boys can pull it back together soon. It seems to me like injuries and that they're tired. They're not dictating the play like they do when they're winning games.
  20. MA Fleury down with a broken finger. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662617.html Not good :(
  21. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...=rss&feed=8 Gonchar likely to return tonight. Hope to see a good battle tonight, I hope the Pens bring their game tonight cause you can bet Philly will want to avenge the 2 losses we dished them in December..
  22. Kunitz out 4-6 weeks for surgery on a torn abdominal muscle that he's apparantly been dealing with. Gonchar hoping to return Thursday.
  23. Assistant Coach Mike Yeo was apparantly pretty sick and will not be behind the bench for tonights game against Florida Panthers.. Heres a link http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=5...vid=DL|PIT|home
  24. Ive checked around and can't find anything really They play today at 5 so maybe we'll find out during tonights game..
  25. Going to have to say goodbye to Gonchar if he doesnt ease up on term or price. At his age, he undoubtedly knows he only has a few more chances for another Cup so hopefully he'll make a deal to stay with the Pens and have a good chance. If he isn't flexible, I hate to see him go but Letang is the priority for the future. Luca Caputi will be ready for the big time and be cheap. Engelland and Lovejoy both played admirably in their sniffs this year with all the injuries so shortly they will be cheap Defensemen as well. It will be interesting as obviously there could be alot of turnover in the roster in the upcoming years, but I'll take the big 5 locked up and take my chances with filling in the holes from within or bargain free agent signings (Jay McKee, steal of the off season) For next year and beyond, big UFAs Guerin (one more year or retirement, certainly no raise) Letang (multiple years, big raise) Fedotenko (with the season hes got going so far, no raise) Cooke (No raise) Eaton (slight raise) Mckee (moderate raise) Skoula (no raise) Lovejoy (2 way? ) Engellend (2 way?) Johnson (?) Kunitz salary goes up 200k, Staals stays the same, Fleurys goes up 2 million..Everyone else has pretty small increases. If they dump Gonchar, sign Letang for 3 mil and factor in Fleurys raise, they still have some cash to spend if the cap doesnt shrink a ton. Lovejoy and Engellend should be nice and cheap to resign and be serviceable. But I dont know shit but thats my speculation from the couch ;)
