  1. I think its caught up with them. I didnt think it would be that bad cause the team is so young but how else can you explain the lackluster play? Hopefully they're keeping something in the tank while staying n the playoff picture.. but I dunno. Also cool to note the kid goali was wearing MAFs pads due to NHL regulations or something, so he was even more impressive considering it wasn't even his gear he was playing in, atleast not all of it.
  2. Fleury will not play until late next week. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662661.html Also notes about Johnson, Orpik, the new kid goalie included in the link as well. Some of these columnists are considering trying to get Peter Sykora back to play with Malkin because of their decent chemistry. Geno just looks tired, wore out. His shoulder was bothering him, but I wonder if its worse than they let on. It sucks to say Malkins having a bad year, but for him he pretty much is. Malkin article http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662655.html Maybe Sid just got mad at everyone saying he wasn't the Pens best player last season :P
  3. I'm sure most of us had a sense of foreboding heading into the game but damn, Curry has to do something. That goal from behind the goalline, what a nutbuster. Props to the kid though, he'll have a story to tell forever. He makes a little cash, gets everyones autograph and heads home. Nice. I hope the boys can pull it back together soon. It seems to me like injuries and that they're tired. They're not dictating the play like they do when they're winning games.
  4. MA Fleury down with a broken finger. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...s/s_662617.html Not good :(
  5. Is that the one thats in like an old garage or someting like that? When I was in Columbus for work, I was at the pizza place across from the arena late night and met 2 guys that do the ice surfacing at Nationwide, all decked out in jackets gear and whatnot. I start bs'ing with them so they hook me up some tickets and tell me to meet them after the game at some bar. I get there and it was a garage converted into a bar sorta. Pretty cool bar though :) maybe 10 minutes from arena?
  6. Have a Guiness at the pub across from the entrance for me. Frog, Bear, and Wild Boar (I believe thats the name) is a great Blue Jackets bar to go pre-game at. Right outside the arena and the people are friendly even to opponents invading their home turf. Boston pizza is also prettttty good:) have fun, the arena district in Columbus is great.
  7. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburgh...=rss&feed=8 Gonchar likely to return tonight. Hope to see a good battle tonight, I hope the Pens bring their game tonight cause you can bet Philly will want to avenge the 2 losses we dished them in December..
  8. Kunitz out 4-6 weeks for surgery on a torn abdominal muscle that he's apparantly been dealing with. Gonchar hoping to return Thursday.
  9. Assistant Coach Mike Yeo was apparantly pretty sick and will not be behind the bench for tonights game against Florida Panthers.. Heres a link http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=5...vid=DL|PIT|home
  10. Ive checked around and can't find anything really They play today at 5 so maybe we'll find out during tonights game..
  11. Going to have to say goodbye to Gonchar if he doesnt ease up on term or price. At his age, he undoubtedly knows he only has a few more chances for another Cup so hopefully he'll make a deal to stay with the Pens and have a good chance. If he isn't flexible, I hate to see him go but Letang is the priority for the future. Luca Caputi will be ready for the big time and be cheap. Engelland and Lovejoy both played admirably in their sniffs this year with all the injuries so shortly they will be cheap Defensemen as well. It will be interesting as obviously there could be alot of turnover in the roster in the upcoming years, but I'll take the big 5 locked up and take my chances with filling in the holes from within or bargain free agent signings (Jay McKee, steal of the off season) For next year and beyond, big UFAs Guerin (one more year or retirement, certainly no raise) Letang (multiple years, big raise) Fedotenko (with the season hes got going so far, no raise) Cooke (No raise) Eaton (slight raise) Mckee (moderate raise) Skoula (no raise) Lovejoy (2 way? ) Engellend (2 way?) Johnson (?) Kunitz salary goes up 200k, Staals stays the same, Fleurys goes up 2 million..Everyone else has pretty small increases. If they dump Gonchar, sign Letang for 3 mil and factor in Fleurys raise, they still have some cash to spend if the cap doesnt shrink a ton. Lovejoy and Engellend should be nice and cheap to resign and be serviceable. But I dont know shit but thats my speculation from the couch ;)
  12. Well, Tampa is carrying what they consider to be 9 NHL caliber Defensmen. Carolina has a few geezers that have been around a minute too. Atlantas got some young talent they probably don't want to get rid of.
  13. Avenged Sevenfold drummer dies http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34617808/ns/entertainment-music/
  14. Do you all think any of those SE teams would trade a good dman to to Washington (Carolina, Atlanta, Tampa all have D men they could move), but to a division opponent?
  15. Boyyy that was a close one too haha
  16. x2. Seems like a decent question for me. Pro shop inside our rink is open the weirdest hours. Gotta drop skates off and pick up hours later quite often because noones around to operate the machine.
  17. I think Halak is head and shoulders above Price. I love watching that guy play. Anytime I catch a MTL game I always hope he's between the pipes.
  18. Hard to say, I mean they put 35 shots on Brodeur... NJ had a gameplan and was ready no doubt for the game.. Pitt put up the shots, had one or two gone in early to give some momentum there may have been a completely different outcome. Last night I had to listen to the radio of the game and watch some clips from On the Fly when I got home but it seemed to me like there was action at both ends.. Kinda sounded like mostly goaltending issues from OTT and Fleury playing stellar for the Pens.. 23 saves in the first period. Thats why I said I get so mad when they get shutout..
  19. What a freaking game..8-1 so far..Pens gave up 40 shots so far and only let in one..wow. Oh malkin gets a hatty on free hat night...second time they've done hat night..second hatty..lol
  20. Is there anywhere online where you can buy just one game? I won't be home tonight but have my laptop and was hoping to get to see the game..
  21. It makes me sad when a team with the firepower of the Pens gets shutout..ugh. And to be the footnote on Martin Broduers ass for the very long future sucks too.
  22. I'd give a leg to get pens season tickets.. That being said, do you really think parking/traffic is going to be any better with the new arena? Its pittsburgh! Noone knows where to go or how to get home, too confusing to most :) Everything else should be super upgraded though, but I still love the igloo! I wish they'd have done something with the Consol arena to keep that 'igloo' type of flavor going, but I guess new team new history or some such thing.
  23. Rematch should be great tonight.. I look forward to it!
  24. So, guys, is holding onto Lucic all damn season in fantasy hockey going to pay off for me? :) Tuuka Rask gonna takeover for Tim Thomas sooner rather than later, its hard not to play the guy when he plays so well..
  25. Make a trick / stickhandle skills video like Kovalev and Datsyuks, oh and your brothers :) Wear pants ;)
