Found this pair of slippers at work and put some tuuks on them. The boots are from 2003, but brand new and fit me well.

My best friend from college is from Glasgow. We played hockey together at Concordia. So I guess seeing Glasgow on a message board is a sweet spot for me.

Had this happen once. I did the ring test...thought it sounded a little funny but put it on anyway. Turned the machine on, a loud POP, and the wheel was in a million pieces. It also bent the wheel guard out, so it is a good thing it was in place.

As mentioned above, double check for debris on the magnet or the blade. Get in the habit of wiping both parts off before measuring. Also, sometimes it helps to give the level part a little tap to make sure it is laying level and not sticking itself to the side/corner of the blade.

Speedz, that sucks about your dog. It hurts to lose a pet. My vent is that I've been waiting three weeks to hear a yes/no on a job I interviewed on. I sent a follow-up email ten days ago and got a reply that said to hang in there. I just need to know if I got it or not so I can get into the right mindset at my current job.

I got married on Saturday It was a great time and everyone I've talked to said they had a lot of fun. However with the MN govt shutdown it won't be legal and I won't be able to change my name until the state leaders compromise and get everything going again.

I use the edge checker on the front and back of the steel on every pair of skates I sharpen. If it is a pair where I wasn't the previous sharpener, I check them before so I can adjust if I need to.

Go to the Dr. They will probably get you on a rehab program first to see if that helps. It won't hurt your hockey playing and it will strengthen your shoulder. If you don't respond to the rehab, then they will look at surgical options. If that happens you will be able to pick the time frame you want it done.

All this math/science/experience go into the sharpening... and then the customer puts on the skate and promptly steps on an exposed drain on the floor.

This is correct. UND doesn't own the rink, they lease it from the Englestads. It's a bummer though, the Sioux logo is great. How is it that UND can no longer be the Fighting Sioux but it is ok for the Washington Redskins to exist? That is way more offensive.
