  1. The last time I saw a team with this explosive an offence, I was watching the 80s Oilers.
  2. Nice pant but the price makes it a tough sell. whats the ballpark on them? Just shy of $200 if my memory serves me. For all the nationalists, Chadd, does that $200 MFSR have to do with a "Made in Canada" label? I haven't seen the line yet so I honestly don't know.
  3. No problem. I'll dig my Cooper SK20 helmet out as soon as possible. It's a classic.
  4. Dale McCourt special.
  5. Back when I used to get Sher-Wood SOP, Cooper Woody from Saku Koivu TPS team signed from Finland on left Cooper mid 60s, on right Cooper early 70s Gunzo's, Berwyn, Illinois SP-Cooper Weeks SB58, Bob Cameron, leather/felt Gloves Cooper Weeks BDP Pro Model, early 60s SG-Winnwell 305
  6. Glad you like the skates. Thanks for hanging in there. These skates took 6 weeks to go from USA to Denmark via USPS Airmail and get through customs!! I still find that hard to believe in 2010 but the skates were worth the wait. Thanks.
  7. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge supporter of local business. BUT... The guys girlfriend bought him the skates on line, all he did was come to you to be fitted and for your help. Someone had to recommend him to you, don't you think? What you wrote puts out the vibe that you hosed him for that. Two pair of One95's cost some serious coin, why not help him out, charge your going rate for the service, and set up future sales? Relationships have to start somewhere.. Sorry if you misunderstood my post. We charge $35/bake and $15/first time sharpen on skates bought elsewhere. We charged him our standard fees. I have no problem with online sites. They will be around forever. I just get a kick out of what I see occur on a daily basis. I am glad you are a supporter of local business. It is important. If you want to have some fun, offer to work in the LHS for a day or two. I'm sure you might have a few stories of your own to share. Also Vakar and I have shops in metro NYC. We deal with typical NYC attitude 24/7. We need a laugh now and then to keep going. Keep supporting your LHS. Remember, we have the bake oven!!!!!
  8. Neither size fit perfectly. I told him to keep both pair.
  9. This is happening right now. A guy just walked in with 2 pair of ONE95 skates that his girlfriend bought him online. He wants us to fit him and tell him which size is the proper fit! Then we will bake and sharpen for $50, our usual fee for skates bought online. What a set of cajones!
  10. The weekends get very busy in the Pro Shop with 4 rinks and lots of travel hockey. There are a lot of parents in from other rinks and organizations but this was a first on Sunday. I was walking up to the front counter and registers when I see a hockey mom behind a register in front of the computer. I come around the counter and she has her Flip Shot video camera plugged into the USB port! Although it was obvious, I asked her what she was doing. "Oh, I'm just trying to recharge my video camera." "I'm sorry but you cannot do that here. Please take it out immediately. Thank you." Of course, I get the look of "why can't I do this?" Before she asks I just say, "I'm sorry but my bosses would get really upset with me if they saw you doing this." Some people will just try anything anywhere anytime and not give a hoot about the consequences for someone else. Amazing.
  11. We have a glass top display case at the front counter. It amazes me when moms hold their kids and then put them down on top of the glass case. "Could you please keep your child off the glass top case?" Some people just should not A. Have kids. B. Be parents Oh well, can't change that once it's happened.
  12. When it's backed up for sharpening on the weekends and I get that same idiot you got, I like to mention that getting your skates sharpened is like buying coffee at Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's, get on the line!
  13. MAD props to your Pro shop at the ice house, My team walked in and we literally looked like little kids in a candy shop

  14. My pet peeve is when they come in all ready to raise a ruckus and start on their tirade. Fine, I'll listen because I want to know exactly what the problem is. They finally catch a breathe, and I start my reply on what can be done or the normal protocol. Now comes the pet peeve: when the customer interupts me speaking and cuts me off mid sentence. Right then I say, "Ok I listened to you speak and finish. Now, you are going to give me the same courtesy or this conversation is over. I didn't cut you off in the middle of speaking. Please do not do it to me." Then we either carry on or we don't. It stops them 100% of the time.
  15. I just never bother to untie them. It is not difficult to sharpen skates tied together.
  16. A customer's lucky day: I brought down an X:50 skate for fitting just now. Opened the box, tissue paper never touched, viola!, pulled out an X:60! The skates fit and I'm selling them for the X:50 price since they are in my inventory as such. "Such a deal!!"
  17. If you need a wider cut shin pad, like RBK, these will be perfect for you. It is good to see a choice for those guys in need.
  18. Thanks for the input. I wasn't looking to trash Warrior, just trying to get some feedback on what others feel about the brand in their areas. hey, if warrior is selling great for you, good!! I'd rather you move inventory, make margins and most importantly, keep your customers happy!! Isn't that the name of the game?
  19. That's a trick question, you wouldn't sell them anything that wasn't from Bauer. I guess that's the difference. The Bauer product sells! But to get back on topic. Do guys think Warrior is losing momentum, gaining momentum, or just staying about the same with their OPS and gear?
  20. You can't be f**king serious! JOFA RULED protective for how many years with primarily white protective?!?! I'm shocked DS! Alas, The Chad and I agree on something...LOL Yea, Jofa rules in the NHL locker rooms. Do they rule at retail? No. Does white still wear sweat stains and grime making your $125 shoulder pad look like crap? Yes. Jofa long ago established their equipment on protection values. They could cover their protective in pink and NHLers would still wear it. This is Year 2 for Warrior hockey protective. White is a risk when you still trying to establish your brand in protective. My thinking is different. I am looking at the gear from the position of a LHS equipment buyer. Do I want to hear from parents in a few months how that Warrior gear they have in all white now looks like crap due to the white showing all the sweat and grime? No.
  21. Some times I think their stick graphics get a bit too overdone for the consumer. Also, white as a dominant color in protective equipment is a risk as it tends to wear sweat stains and grime a bit too quickly.
  22. The fit on both the X:60 Pro and X:60 is tapered. The differences between the two gloves are as follows: Protection- X:60 Pro Inserts: Poly, X:60 Inserts: Vent Armor Composite, X:60 Pro Shell: Nylon Mesh + Cable Mesh, X:60 Shell: Synthetic Leather + Cable Mesh. Fit/Mobility- X:60 Pro Palm: Dual Layered Digital Nash Palm, X:60 Palm: Techniflex Digital Nash Palm w/Absorb Pad, X:60 Pro Cuff: contoured, segmented, X:60 Cuff: Free Flex Cuff, X:60 Pro Liner: Termo Max +, X:60 Liner: Thermo core +.
  23. No returns on special order items or sale items. Otherwise, return accepted with receipt in original packaging and NOT USED, of course. Yes, I do have to mention that to our customers. However, a re-stocking fee sounds like a hose job.
