  1. 1. I'm skating in some old tack 952 (2001 or 2000)... but allready try one95 (just in the shop) and 90 (on the ice, quite a fucking good skate I have to admit it if I put the pain apart). 2. definitely! the old supreme lines looks way better. Bulky looking POWWWWWWAAAAAA. The zero space concept make the skate look like a "figure skating" skate <_< Finally the shape of one95 is awful... same for the one90 but at least graphics and outside design don't have this cheap-looking... 3. Maybe. Nevertheless, many years ago, the old black tu'k was synonym of high end skates... and the full black look was awesome (if you remember all the 7 series graf before the cobra holder, all the bauer supreme 3/4/5ooo, air line, ...). BTW black LS holders do exist but don't look very hot I don't know why... 4. As I say all serious players that will really get the most of those skates, will get them for free... The rest of the dumbies like me, who clearly doesn't need such a good skate to go faster, will go in the shop and give 700 dollars. And when you spend so many money, you want everything manufacturing-quality/performance/technique/comfort/look... I'm sorry but with the one 95 you don't get the good looking and the well crafted part at all... it's almost like the made-in-china models are better manufactured than the one made in America :( 5. Who cares?? People like me, just play for fun. They can copy who ever they want, all we want is a skate that has the whole package... but those kind of skate seems to have disappeared Well then I guess you are screwed coming and going. The world has changed and so have hockey skates...................
  2. Vathsdrop, Do you skate in the ONE95 or ONE90? What do you skate in? Just curious............. "Shape is very thin" Do you prefer a bulky looking skate like the Supreme 7000? "Color doesn't match." There is no LS holder made in black. Marketing tests show white is the dominant preferred color for the holder. "Good style on the ice" Is it a runway you skate on or a hockey rink? U+ is using the ribbed look next to the eyelets on the boot that Nike did about 5 years ago. Who is copying who?
  3. Bauer put up a photo of the skates in X-Ray in the catalog! Once again, you cannot see a thing about these skates from the catalog. I saw the skates two weeks ago and I have already forgotten what they look like. I know they look good, are built great, and yes, they will sell if you are a Vapor guy. I guess I will just have to wait until the release date, like the rest of us.
  4. There is no picture of the Vapor X:60 skate in the catalog. I have the catalog and I have seen the skate. I repeat, there is no picture of the Vapor X:60 skate in the catalog. I have seen the X:60 skate built with the XXXX skin. The reason Bauer is building X:60s like this is so the pros can wear the X:60 during the season and then transition immediately to the actual X:60 following the release date. The X:60 will look entirely different than the XXXX. And don't ask me what it looks like because I am not answering.
  5. The Vapor goalie line in Spring 09 will not have a Nike swoosh on it.
  6. Conjecture: con·jec·ture /kənˈdʒɛktʃər/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[kuhn-jek-cher] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation noun, verb, -tured, -tur·ing. –noun 1. the formation or expression of an opinion or theory without sufficient evidence for proof. 2. an opinion or theory so formed or expressed; guess; speculation. 3. Obsolete. the interpretation of signs or omens. –verb (used with object) 4. to conclude or suppose from grounds or evidence insufficient to ensure reliability. –verb (used without object) I'll go with 1, 2, and 4.
  7. The X:50 will be a strong price point north of the border. That is part of the potential for whom Bauer is marketing that skate for.
  8. It is called marketing. Apple and so many others do it, too.
  9. I find it ironic that this board of gear whores is even interested in a pre-fab butt end! One of the essential core joys of owning the hockey stick is taping the blade and making your own personalized customized butt end! A pre-fab butt end? Patooey!!
  10. How about Rawlings hockey equipment in general? Oh, and would the Fox glow puck apply here? The glow wasn't a bad thing, especially along the boards, the comet tail on the other hand...... If you needed the glow to follow the puck, do us a favor and don't watch hockey. Of all of Bettman's really bad ideas, that was easily #1. Nothing did more to turn off the traditional hockey fan than that stupid puck. Did the glowing puck get more people to watch hockey? Obviously not. I used to tape the Finals every year. Those years I wouldn't do it.
  11. Cooperalls were not a bust. The girdle still sells strong 25 years later. The long pants were used by all three Canadian major junior leagues for a number of years. The NHL banned the Flyers and Whalers from wearing the long pants. The pants worn by the Flyers were the first time a black silhouette was presented all the way down the leg. No NHL team had black socks at that time. Some NHL goalies did not like the all black leg when looking for the puck. Once the NHL banned the long pants the end was in sight. The NHL banned the long pants to keep a uniform look across the league. The original Cooperalls were offered with short shells back then, too. Hardly a bust.
  12. Anybody mention the ugly sister of the LocJaw, the Bauer Harpoon Latch system on replacement blades? I just had to heat one up in an old Easton shaft! Timing is everything.
  13. Bauer Endure OPS was a bust. CCM 952 woodies with the honeycomb shaft were a bust. CCM Edge skates were a bust. A lot of Mission protective was a bust.
  14. The Little Caesars AAA Bantam team won the 2008 USA Hockey National Championship in April at the Ice House. The team gloves were the same color pattern made by Fury.
  15. These custom Eagle gloves were from Little Caesars team at least 6, 7 years ago. A friend of mine gave them to me to add to my collection. They are all leather including the palm.
  16. That is how my Vapor XXXX glove custom for Team Canada Jrs from last winter's World Championships are built, single layer nash. The stick is right up against your hand for max feel and control.
  17. You are right.....the stock X72's are great gloves. But myself and DarkStar can attest.....the custom's in Tufftek are WELL beyond the Portofino X72's. I totally agree. The x72 I tried on was the Tufftek with the MSH2. It was difficult for me to not purchase them right then and there. They are next level, for sure. Had I not been purchasing custom One95s at the time (and already own three pairs of gloves) they would have followed me home. . . Even though I own a ridiculous number of gloves, I am waiting for my stock order of Eagle PPFs to come in. Then I might just decide whether or not to go for custom Eagles with Tufftek. Spreedizzle's gloves were just too nice. I should have kept them!! Hey, Christmas is right around the corner and my birthday is coming up. Not that I need a reason............
  18. Was about 10 weeks in total if I remember correctly. Long enough for me to build excessive anxiety over their arrival. ;) Also....Just got back from game #1 in the new gloves......and right out of the box I have to say that they are the best feeling gloves that I have ever owned. They feel broken in straight out, no binding, no stiffness, just butter. I think that they are even lighter than my Carbon custom MIA MB-33's without plastic inserts. Simply unreal. No other glove company will ever get any of my business from here forward. B) Even I was nervous about delivery after placing the order! When they arrived at the shop last week, though, I knew Spry would love these puppies. They are so comfortable brand new. Great job by Eagle!
  19. Jeez, sounds like parents whining at a house league game. "The coach didn't give David enough ice time." This is the NHL, not Saturday morning Atoms House League.
  20. Thanks for the input. Since you are in the LA area and know first-hand how Murray did what he did, I believe you. The numbers tell one story(the records of Murray, Frolov, and Cami) while the methods used are the true basis of what happened. I appreciate hearing from someone close to the way it played out. Good job!! Chadd, BS on me!
  21. First or second year players scoring 30+ in today's NHL are named Crosby or Ovechkin. Frolov and Cami are not in that class, obviously. Murray did develop both players into 30 goal scorers by their fourth year in the league, whether or not he stood behind the bench when they did it. Camilleri earned his playing minutes and has the points now to prove it. Just what is your beef with Murray? He has turned the Blues around 100% from where they were a year ago. I wouldn't consider him some retread coach. He basically started with the worst group of players a year ago when he replaced Kitchen. Search that thread from early last season here when the Blues were dog crap. A year ago David was riding the Iron Lung on all-night bus rides and having a post game Happy Meal at MickeyDs. The NHL is full of kids who got rushed into situations they couldn't handle because the team, the coach, and management forced them to. Lucky for David the team is watching out for him. Its only December in his first NHL season. Try thinking big picture, long term planning. He is still a boy among men.
  22. Chadd, I'm calling BS on you. Do the research: Andy Murray put the Kings in the playoffs his first three years with totally veteran teams. The Kings had no prospects to play during 99-00,00-01, and the 01-02 seasons when the Kings were in the playoffs. In 02-03, two 20 year old players were brought up to the Kings: Alexander Frolov and Mike Camalleri. Frolov played 79 games that year while Camalleri had played three seasons at U/Michigan. Camalleri was learning the pro game and still given the learning curve and time to develop his game. Here are the stats: 02-03 Frolov-79gp, 14g-17a 31 pts Camalleri-28 gp, 5g-3a 8 pts 03-04 Frolov-77gp, 24g-24a 48 pts Camalleri-31gp, 9g-6a 15 pts 05-06 Frolov- 69gp, 21g-33a 54 pts Camalleri-80gp, 26g-29a 55 pts 06-07 Frolov-82gp, 35g-36a 71 pts Camalleri-81gp, 34g-46a 80 pts Frolov's salary this year is $2.9mil while Camalleri went to arbitration and is being paid $3.35mil. Coach Murray has a lot to do with building the foundation of these two players. I'll bet David would be satisfied to be in either of those two player's situations about 3-4 years from now, if this is how Murray gets David's NHL career started.
  23. At the end of the day, Coach Murray knows more about coaching and developing hockey players than anyone of us here does. Just a reminder, he gets paid for it. NHL Network had a behind the scenes look at the Blues 2007 Draft day and preparation for the draft. It was wild to see the work before the draft that they do with testing players for body fat, muscle and bone structure, projection of player's body with 3-4 years and more. Its just more credit to David that he was their third player chosen in the first round. Think of where he was two years ago, where he is now, and simply how much farther he has to go to become a complete NHL player. It seems to me he is in the right organization for a player like David. Ease off the throttle, there is a long way to go.
  24. NBH has corrected the sizing length issue of the ONE90 skate with the new ONE95. The ONE95 will match true to previous NBH sizing. During the skate seminar at the dealer meeting in October, they had a size 7 Vapor XXXX and a size 7 ONE95 boot sawed in half. The two halves of each model matched up perfectly together from the heel to the toe box to show how the sizes were now exactly the same between Vapor and Supreme. BTW, for the shop guys, its always a learning tool to saw a boot in half and study the guts of the boot to see how its layered up in manufacturing. We recently cut a 7000 in half!
