  1. Game 3 is done and yet another sneaky pock by Marchand. Well I guess after you are put in the box for HS and having to do a skate of shame after your team got scored on for your penalty, it make sense to do shit like this. Marchi is a gentleman and a scholar.
  2. Yes, from back on the ice surface, it is a crap shoot to figure who won the race if it is close. They probably call it on body language (Players know who won it).
  3. Loved the match up. This will come down to goalies as usual. CBJ did suck in the first all over, in the second and third they stated to give Bruins bang for the buck. It looks though the Bruins played a very strong game, made very little uncharacteristic errors. O and D were just as advertised. I want to give a nod to CBJ as even though they sucked first and did not produce much of mining full O, they did take the game deep in OT. Kepi goes to Bob here big time, but I see the CBJ has room for improvement while Bs might be at the top of their game. Looks like the book on Bob they are trying, is to shoot rockets just inside the posts. While promising, pretty hard to get it right.
  4. Apologies never fix anything and often times more of a rub in the face, but the acknowledgement of an error is important as it is a " we messed up here and try to do better next time" vs. "shut up, I am the king here and what I say is always right". Not going to reverse anything for Vegas, but I can almost guarantee that moving forward no such call will be made again in these playoffs. Also, in Vegas/Sharks case, refs were like "shit... let them have a pp, they sucked all night and will loose anyway, hopefully they'll get a tuck for the fans". They did not know that Vegas will just evaporate from the game because of this. Bad call, better team packed in... Ironically, the sequence of events leading to Vegas demise is just as tragic as the sequence of events that led to Pavelsky injury. Vegas got shafted here by supernatural forces here, no need to whine, this is just the way cookie crumbles sometimes.
  5. That call was a shit. That said, if you can not keep 5m to at least a goal or two, you should not be in second round By the way, I thought that Sharks were quite bad in the series and Vegas was better than let them hang around for more than 5 games.
  6. Game 7 was probably the worst game of these playoffs. It was like watching one of them late September games... Until the last 5 minutes penalty. Then it became a true game 7. I wonder how many people have already left the game after throwing some shit on ice... They missed some ending. Unfortunately, the crappier of the night team won this time. But hey, Sharks made it to game 7 OT, so let's see if this was a fluke or they actually can step up.
  7. Game was actually pretty intense and both teams came out to play. Leafs just could not get it done. I think Freddy was not on top of his game to bail a rather non playoff D, but forwards really tried.
  8. Well, at least the big three got about a point a piece for the 2019 playoffs, I guess it could have been worse.
  9. I always thought that Sully is a fixture coach. If they drop the series in 4, he probably should move on.
  10. It was sad watching the fans leaving the arena after 3rd goal... Pens and their fans are eating humble pie now... Could be too late with something like 400:1 against them winning the series after today.
  11. Pens 2:1 down going into third period... Who is delivering motivational speech?
  12. Unfortunately for CBJ, TBL are rehashing their lines for tonight... Might even go with other goalie. Mostly because Kutch is suspended. Looks like they also going to shelf Hedman and use a fresh of IR Strolman. All the changes can obviously spell a tough night for Columbus. TBL finally acknowledge that the 2-0 hole is not of their own doing, but effectiveness of Columbus against them. This mindset can further the tonights scale to their side.
  13. Doubt Bruins will see Kadri until next season. What a game, what an officiating....
  14. Sounds dead on... As soon as they win four that is.
  15. Did Pens really just rolled over or Islanders are actually playing some impressive hockey? Playing responsible and structured hockey us not overachieving. Trotz is showing here that an ok team + structure can win against what-baby-wants-baby-gets team. Not saying that Pens are done by any means, but they need start grinding if they want to see past this series.
  16. I agree. I think CBJ experienced a pretty nice bump popularity and fanbase expansion just because of this guy. Winning games is obviously the goal, but selling merch, tickets, and ad-spots is just as important to the organization. Good choice by Jarmo to ride this a long as possible, then who knows he might stay... He became the man in that team for one reason or the other. I am not really digging CBJ getting Duchene and Dzingel though, seems excessive. I'd rather keep Abramov, he can be a total weapon one day.
  17. Perhaps adding a washer to the steel rivets would solve this... a nylon washer maybe.
  18. You can measure it and get local glass shop cut one for you. Although this could be more expensive than what you are looking to spend especially if you go with tempered.
  19. Tampa looks fully stacket and probably have no cap left even if he takes the same pay. If they sent somebody like Point in return, maybe, but it would be strange for Tampa to consider something like that. They can win cup without Panarin, it'll just things more more convoluted. I'd say Panthers are only real way for Panaring to get to the beach scene. They are strong team with playoffs future and could use him to improve that. Empty seats are downside, but we have seeing how dynamic and exciting to watch hockey club can turn that around... Panarin certainly can add to exciting part. Panthers also on the casp of having a great season and is one of two or three team that might splurge on a couple of top picks to solidify that. Their goalie situation could use update as well.
  20. Reading that breadman has Islangers on his list. Lots of BS is surrounding Panaring and Jackets future together, but this one makes sense. I think bread is in the state when I would not be too surprised if he'd accept a place near probably the largest Russian community in USA. Not going to be surprised him factoring in availabilities of Russian churches, Language, and food. I also wondering if Bob would be open to going that way also. Them two been conspiring together all summer, who knows what they pulling. If Islanders can swing Panarin + Bobrovsky package, John Tavares lose would seem like a blesding. With $30 mil in cap space they are probably the only club in NHL that can swing this deal. End now they do need a play maker and an elite goalie more than ever. Isles farm is ranked top 5, so maybe this is not as crazy as it might appear and Jarmo might be open to some kind of a deal. Isles + these two dudes healthy, pretty much guarantees making playoffs. IMHO of course...
  21. Many hugly good things for the sport have hpenned under his tenure. It is just as always, people tend to remember only negatives. I think he has done good and I am personally have no problems with that. Game is cleaner, less predictable, and focused on skill... NHL out of Olympics thing though smells of certain "collusion" :).
  22. This is in Irvine, CA.
  23. Perhaps it should be "goaltending is not the only factor"... You have to have great goaltending, but that alone is not going to get it done. You need to have great goaltending and great "chemistry" between players on at least 3 lines and 2 defensive pairings. If the above is closely matched between two opponents, skill level of individual players (goalies included) becomes a factor. And of course a bit of "puck-luck". As someone before said, it is about balance. No one good part of the game will win the cup, but one bad part will certainly loose it. Perhaps what Chippa was saying is that the teams are matched pretty close in ability to win the games, but goaltending has been on the Pens side in that one game and if that changed, Pens will be ending the season sooner this year. However, Holtz has better chance on falling behind comparing the two years of performance between the two goalies.
