  1. There are many skates that I have owned, none of them Bauer, that have looked nearly new for a long period of time despite being used heavily. I think the major changes to composite boots and such which eliminated leather/pleather and other pliable materials have made the boots stiffer but they also break down faster too. My True, Graf, and Mako II skates still look excellent.
  2. Anyone know where these can be purchased from new or used? Bauer doesn't have them for me to order directly. Thanks!
  3. Funny someone mentioned subconsciously curling toes inside skates. I used to do that all the time and eventually put foam in the toe to force my toes down. This was before they had things like PowerFoot available. I just used some high-density foam. Ever since I think any skate I test feels weird without having that padding forcing my toes flat.
  4. The ones we have sold have not had good reviews from customers.
  5. I've used them and hated them. Felt like Superfeet which I am not a fan of. I am a huge advocate of the previous generation CCM insoles and the Bauer speedplate.
  6. I would also agree, try a thinner sock. Can you take a picture of your foot showing exactly where you are feeling pain? Also, if you could take a picture of your foot on the footbed it would help too. Thanks!
  7. I have one of those coming in our next shipment along with all of the new QR stuff, including the girdles. However, I need to select a Bauer helmet as a replacement for the Easton E700 they are covering under warranty. Even if the new Warrior Alpha fits fantastic I still need something in the interim.
  8. Agreed I did, it looks like a bubble on my head. I tried the OG Fitlite and the 3DS versions.
  9. Yes, this is the exact reason why we no longer stock their gear but will order it if requested. We see most people prefer CCM though since the quality of their product is better than Bauer, their skates are more advanced, and they understand customer price points better than Bauer.
  10. We CAN get it through distributors but we only do custom orders and prefer to not stock much Bauer gear. We have a small selection of sticks, gloves, pants, and helmets but mostly for kids or intermediate and not adults. Not sure where the comment "you can get it" came from, but you should check your facts before you made rude remarks.,
  11. Why care about expiration? I play adult. I tried one on today and liked it a lot. Pretty sure this is what I am going with. Correct, the shell is fine but the interiors fall apart. One helmets interior didn't even last more than a few months. Poor quality. I ended up having to use a sewing machine and stitching it all together but eventually, the liner backing which connects to the velcro started to tear off. Most helmets weigh 200 grams or more than the E700. I like a light helmet. That's what I prefer. Why can't a helmet be light AND protective? The E700 has done just fine for me despite the interior falling apart. I dont sell Bauer at all. Nothing. Only CCM, Warrior, True, STX and Sher-Wood.

  14. I am a huge fan of the Easton E700. I actually purchased a bunch of them before Easton was acquired by Bauer as I assumed they would be end of life. My last E700 has kicked the bucket and Bauer is offering to replace it and asked me to test fit multiple helmets and let them know what works best for me. What are some of the lighter Bauer helmets with good ventilation? I test fitted the IMS line of helmets and was surprised the IMS 9.0 fit entirely different than the IMS 11.0 but I guess it makes sense since the shell itself is a different design. The IMS 9.0 fit very well but felt heavy, the IMS 11.0 didn't fit well at all. I am looking for some suggestions. As mentioned, looking for a light, breathable, and preferably low profile helmet.
  15. +3mm boot cut, FT1 +6mm, comfort pad +9mm, both
  16. For those wondering what specifics you can choose. Here is the order form.
  17. If it isn't broken, why change? McDavid is just fine in his current skates so I dont see any reason for him to change his equipment.
  18. I'll be honest. I have mixed feelings about the skates. Certain things I love and other things I dislike. But that's the way it is with most things in life. If you want it to be exactly the way you want you need to do build it yourself or find someone to build it for you.
  19. My skates have done that since day one. I only hear it and dont feel anything when on dry land. I dont hear or feel anything it on the ice.
  20. I used to use Pro Stock sticks but with dealer staff discount from manufacturers being so significant there is no a cheaper option for the top of the line sticks.
  21. So I spoke with Rob at True, he is the Operations Manager for True Skates. He mentioned there are a few options to drop weight in the skate. On average a True boot is roughly 10-30 grams heavier and depending on the boot size is sometimes lighter than other brands. 40-50 grams of weight is due to the Step steel and STEP/VH holders so swapping to Tuuk holders and a smaller or lighter steel LS2/Byonic would drop unsprung weight. Shot blockers add roughly 40-50 grams of weight per skate but cannot be removed as they are incorporated into the design. The stiffness he said will break in over time =. It might take a while but it will eventually become less rigid. He said they do have special lightweight tongues that they can supply that will save 30-40 grams compared to the metatarsal ones I currently have. Not sure which tongues those are but I am very excited to see them.
  22. My understanding is the technology the True licenses for use is the same technology that CCM will be using as well. They just perform the scanning differently.
  23. Now that is something I need to see! Haha
  24. Equipment managers typically hack fixes and occasionally make minor adjustments for players when they get new gear. Most of the time when a skate arrives from the manufacturer it's built pretty close to the players requested specification. You might need to punch an area or make minor modifications but I have yet to see an equipment managers add padding (comfort pads) to the top ankle area of a players skate. Again, to me, this is a design flaw. Something. That was just overlooked.
