I got the 910 helmet this year and it was $210 USD and I feel it was worth it. I haven't had a helmet fit as well since the E700. Plus it breathes nicely and looks good too. If this helmet fit even better, was lighter and is likely even more breathable I would happily spend the money. In a world where shoes can cost thousands of dollars and not even be custom, I think a fully custom shoe for $450 isn't nuts. https://www.footshop.eu/blog/the-worlds-17-most-expensive-sneakers-2020/

The 4D printed Adidas shoes are about $450 which I dont think is ridiculous. Not saying that is super affordable but for a nice fitting helmet that also breathes well and lasts 4-5 years, I would gladly spend $450.

Well, CCM already confirmed they are going direct to consumer just like Bauer did.....
-
I havent seen CCM really advertise this. Not sure specifically how it works but the premise is interesting. https://ccmhockey.com/en/virtualskatefitting

Very cool. I love the 910 so if they can make it fit even better, decrease the weight, or make it have a higher level of protection, I am stoked.

Does anyone remember this video? It popped backup in my YT feed today randomly. What shocked me watching it is that these shoulder pads weighed in at 750 grams. This was in 2012! So have shoulder pads really advanced that much in 8 years? I guess not.

3-4 hours wait time.

Go back and have them flare the eyelet cuff:

It feels like a ProSharp Quad profile without any pitch. I suggest looking at the ProSharp section and reading the reviews people posted about the Quad 0 profile.

Steel is getting taller and more padding is being added. Compare the v1 of the retail Vapor 1x vs the retail 2x Pro and you will see a significant difference in foams and such. Also, steel got a little taller as well.
-
Totally is. I use short laces, 96" on a 7.5 skate, so I have no choice but to remove the laces from the top eyelets. I hate having extra lace flopping around.

I would say a EE in the new Tacks is close to a FIT3 in width but the FIT3 has a little more volume.
-
Thats very interesting. You may have been in skates that are too big for you previously. Thats the only way you could squeeze into a FIT3. a FIT3 is more like a Supreme EE/Nexus D as opposed to a Nexus EE in overall design. I have yet to have a single player come into our store that wears a Nexus EE that has been able to fit into a FIT3 skate.

The eyelets for me on the TF7/9 are the same as on my customs. I push the tongue forward and then lace the top 2 eyelets from behind. Then I pull the slack back over the front of the tongue. I can make a video if that sounds confusing.
-
No way based on your size that a FIT3 will work for you. But good luck.

He would likely need to be in the Quad 3XS which is for size 1-2 skates. If he is using 212 steel that typically corresponds to a size 1. Would he notice a difference, absolutely.

You could always buy them from both Monkey and Pure. Bake the Pure ones and if you like them keep the ones you got from Monkey and send the others back to Pure. Not the most ethical thing to do but just saying it can be done.

What's surprising to me, as someone who owns all of those skates, is that my TRUE customs actually weigh less than any of my other Bauer or CCM custom skates. In fact, my AS3 Pro skates are by far the heaviest. When you compare retail skates they are all within 5-10% of each other. The difference usually is in the steel, taller steel will weigh more.

That's with any skate and brand. Players jump in and out of brands all the time. Most of the time it's because they want money and if they aren't going to be paid they will switch. TRUE never even gives their players free skates. Crazy. Right!?

I had the opportunity to visit the Hockey Monkey in Irvine, CA today to see how they are marketing the TRUE TF7/TF9 and was not very impressed. The sales rep, a young kid with a nice flow of hair, approached me in front of the skate wall and asked me if I was looking for some new skates so I asked him what's new and hot right now and he immediately dragged me over to Bauer to show me the Ultrasonic skates. I asked him what else is new and he took me to CCM to talk about the new AS3 Pro skates. Never once did he ask me my playing level or even the price point I was targeting. I then noticed the TRUE TF7/TF9 off in the corner, lonely by the closeout skates from previous years. I asked him to tell me a bit about TRUE as if I had never really heard of the brand. His exact words "Yeah, they seem pretty dope, but many people don't like that brand and since they are brand new. I don't really know too much about TRUE." I asked him if anyone working knew about TRUE and after asking around another guy walked over and said he tried TRUE skates 2-3 years ago and they seemed ok but he prefers Bauer because they are made better and all of the pros use Bauer. After pestering the staff a little bit they finally went in the back and grabbed me the TF7 and TF9 so I could try them on. I think it was the first time they had brought them to the floor because they seemed very interested in checking out the skates themselves. I talked with them a little bit about the TF7 and TF9, how they are different from one another, and how they compare against a Bauer or CCM. I can tell you Hockey Monkey really needs to spend more time educating their sales staff if the TF7 or TF9 is going to do well for sales at their stores. Staff also had no clue about and of the current TRUE rebates and when I showed them such they didn't seem to care. This specific location had very little TRUE product in stock, no protective, and a limited selection of AX series sticks. Tomorrow I am going to visit PURE to see if the experience there is different. I have already visited another PURE store in WA but they didn't even have any of the TRUE skates in stock.

The size chart on IW is teh same for all skates. Its not skate or brand specific.

I got my 7.0R, 7.0W, 7.5R, and 7.5W skates today. I measure the following in custom skates: Right Foot Width: 102 mm Length: 266.3 mm Left Foot Width: 99.7 mm Length: 261.9 mm In the TF7 I wear a 7.5W and in the TF9 I wear a 7.0W. I could maybe fit the R width but it was a little tighter than I prefer and I figure once I start skating and my foot swells a little they would likely be uncomfortable. I assume the lower profile tongue of the TF9 allows me to fit into a slightly smaller skate. When I swapped the TF9 tongue into the TF7 in a size 7.0 it seems to fit fine. All of this testing was done with the skates unbaked and also baked. Baking them changes the fit dramatically.

No inserts in the TF7/TF9 No inserts in the TF7/TF9
