  1. I ate 2-3 hours before, pasta with just a light amount of sauce , salad olive oil , hour before two B12 tablets. Drank plenty of water . During the game didn't drink water ,I drank orange juice .
  2. Chris, I'm just trying to help you stop the puck and saying what I know will help you .... I will be happy to show you on the chalk board. I know probably no one use chalkboard any more . It's actually easier to show you with a card cardboard goaltender and shooter and explain it to you . But all I have for video is my phone so I can't set that up to Skype and move the players to show you the positioning. I will draw giagrams the best I can....
  3. Sir, you have to take small steps when learning. Its not done anymore ? Are we talking about clothing styles or stopping a black thing from going into the net ; Both of wich have not changed !!! Right? Has the puck or the net changed?? Where isnt it done any more ? That would be at the Elite levels . Of wich this league is not .Chris is coming out of net to soon. I said a little to far apart, not miles apart on the feet . The point is to stop the puck? Or did that change too? If you are getting up one leg at a time from a flop you are a sitting duck. If you are already on the get up leg that saves Chris time !!! Almost 2.5 seconds of time to get up . Keep it simple and work toward fancy like the guys on tv . "THIS isn't done anymore" like we are in a game of trends . Listen to your self! What it is about is putting the black thing in the goal more than the other team. And the goaltenders job is to keep you in a position to do that . Chris is asking how can stop this thing . And sir if I don't know what I am doing then you should be able to back your mouth up with skill ,since you can be disrespectful and shoot me down and criticise me then you must be better. Do you think So? Would you like to put a wager on that . I mean that should be easy for an expert like you ?
  4. The dude is a douche. Stick going for the puck and the glove gets there a fraction of a second sooner , happens. But don't beat your hand up
  5. You have the right idea about coming out to cut the angle off, but you are coming out to early; this gives them a larger portion of the net by just using the length of there stick. You are vulnerable because you can't back skate fast enough. The way you are coming out now is how you would handle a shot from the point because from out there you are talking up most of the net . When the play is coming at you you have to come out and meet the play, not go out and anticipate the play coming or wait for it to come to you. Legs are a little to wide .it's faster to put the leg out then it is to pull it in had a couple shooters that sweeping your stick . You are screwed as far as having defensemen doing anything to help you .
  6. Goalies have done training with strobe lights. Smith gave info on this in the hockey news in the 80's Also there has to be an innate instinct to get out of the way of something coming at you , then there is no I supposed to stop this . Just the time it takes to do that has to be a challenge. I don't know what you are up against as far as shots or stick handling . Instead of doing a doing a double butterfly flop do single legs until you get more limber and build up the strength from going from the butterfly to your skates in one motion . In my opinion if the butterfly isn't done pretty darn good, you are vulnerable on the five going down ,and as you are down ,not to mention the gewels . When I am working with a goaltender : I will shot so they are going to stop it . Get him or her to move ,feel the contact. Build there confidence I'm looking at there eyes for a flinch and build that confidence. Bring him or her out and purposely shoot a little wide so I'm hitting the post if they miss . The sound tells them location in the net .. depending on there pad quality I will heat up the shot some . Shooting so they can't miss . Heat it up a little more and bring the shot on net . You can see the difference the difference with the glove and the blocker in one practice . I give them a couple shots that give them a sting . training : I suggest Roman chairs, stretch ,groin, hips, for the hips you need a trainer or friend to ease pressure on . Sitting feet together sole to sole as close to the body as possible, eventually you want your knees to be on the floor, . Then stretch the outer hip work on that range of motion. Look up stretching for this. Stretch your spine .
  7. The two machines I think each have a wheel that's proprietary. Compounds, abrasive contents etc. Each machine has what they calculated to be the best pressure against the skate blade. I don't know about one pass , that scares me . That means more pressure, more aggressive abrasive wich both equal heat . To me means a ruined blade. Four passes: is in line with what a good manual sharpening takes . What does a better job? The rest has to be a blind study. Even with some skating on a manual sharpening to act as the placebo of the test . Do a hardness test before and after . This will produce clean data .
  8. Do you know how to make a custom formed padded interior: wrap what you want to protect in wax paper or butcher's paper ,set it in the case and hold it off the bottom with spacers. The use spray foam all sides remove the wrapped unit then trim the foam. Get some felt and use spray glue to hold the felt to the foam. Not as hard as it sounds
  9. This is the case I had in mind for $136 https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/us-military-surplus-carry-case-with-wheels-new?a=2141125 It's 26×18×21 and has foam to fit custom.
  10. Yes go to the sportsmans guide site. They have military surplus stuff. They have a case I think will be perfect. Even has foam you can cut to fit . Welcome to the group
  11. 20pounds that could make a difference depending on the weight of the skater Agreed. You have to break the movement down. Make it second nature. There is a plus to all this . You don't have to unlearn bad habits........ Another thought I just had is the space the gear takes up . Like a cross over with gear you have an extra inch or two you have to clear. Also if you can take a video of your self skating.. I can then make suggestions. Basics to remember: legs shoulder width, a little wider is what I find natural... knees over the toes shoulders over the knees. Imagine a string at eye level or nose level and stay at that height. In this position your femor will be at approximately a 45º angle. Chances are what will happen is you start a drill correct and in a couple strokes or strides you will start to straighten your legs either lean further forward with your torso or raise that along with your legs. If this happens stop and restart the drill. Start with edge control drills. There is some drills on you tube . They are done to fast by the instructor. They should be done slow so the student can see every step. But you can pause to see it in the video. Form is key . Once you got this form your transitions will become more seamless. ,cross over more deap and more power threw both legs
  12. Heck don't worry about what people are gonna think at public skating. Those kind of people are going to find something on someone to criticise or snicker about
  13. I have the two pair of learning what sizes have done since the late 90's learning experience tacks that I could experiment with . The nail polish remover I found in my house seams to be some non toxic citrus base stuff. I got caught with it and quickly got the stuff taken away. I mean she freaked out.
  14. Skating, try and describe the difference you are feeling . Or even take video of your self in both conditions. Then I can give you some idea in a more accurate way . Another thought is weight: I am not current on knowledge of equipment weight but we certainly know it's adding weight to you . That can add significant increase in friction at the skate and the ice . It could be something as simple as a shallower hollow. Not knowing how you skate :form ,stride , If your skates are too tight. When I take on a student the first thing I do after getting them to stretch is sit with them and check is there sharpening, then I check skate fit : a large percentage have skates on that are too big . Then I see how they put them on : large percentage have there skates way too tight . If this is the case I explain the restricted movement on the rubber ,I show them my laces and my amount of movement. Then I lace there skates snug and leave the top two eyelets undone. Then we hit the ice . And I say take a couple laps take a video. Then I ask was there any difference on how you felt now compared to before. Almost all say I got better push and the skate feels sharper . Then I go over the video and show them the ideal body position in slow skating or even standing still. Then we work on him or her getting in proper form . All done slow . more info then you wanted I'm sure . But hope it can help
  15. 9/16 is good . Have you ever taken power skating? I find it gives players a more positive edge. Nice that you are all skating on the same hollow.
  16. http://m.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/decaleraserwheel.php?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-7L0vvKF2AIVyuMbCh1v4gx3EAQYDCABEgL8bvD_BwE Here is a tool that you use in a power drill .they are used to remove factory stripes, decals and such
  17. Probably not clear coated. Have you tried to find footage of it being applied? That may give a clue. So of the auto graphics just needs a little heat and and getting under an edge with a single edge razor blade and heat and peel it . There is also a sticker and decal glue removal wheel that doesn't ruin the paint. I'm going to see if I can fin it .. Eastwood has these kinds of stuff
  18. Ok head gasets on an infinity what size engine? And most importantly how was the head gasket condemned.:: combustion gasses in the coolant? Or milky oil . Milky oil is a sign of moiture or even to much oil in the vehicle. Ther are different test and procedure to condemn a head gasket . The chemical test hits them all and gives you data in minute ..... I have worked as a profeprofessional auto tech since I was ten . Had to pay for hockey. So when My knee got Ruined i did the car thing.. ASE master tech ,taught at tech college. Two reasons head gasket fail. Over beating and a high ph . That eats the gasket.
  19. I have to buy a spinner set up or make the rig and just buy the spinner. From being away from hockey for years to heal alot has happened. I heard about the fbv and thought oh boy another gimmick, but I'm hearing all good about it . When I played I skated on 3/4 . Now 5/8
  20. Really cool stuff: so to acquire bit coin. You have to accept bit coin as payment, purchase bit coin with standard currency, or be a miner an be rewarded by keeping the book ? I'm curious about the purchase of bit coin: big brother knows when regular currency is withdrawn: is there a tax on the front side when the bit coin is purchased with that money? For the folks that have been in this for significant amount of time with healthy gains make bit coin loans? If so how is the risk measured ?
  21. I found a documentary too. I will watch the video. Totally get now the entire point of it is not having a gate keeper.
