  1. SydNap, thanks for those views. That answers some questions I've had for a while. Plus, I love the back to back shot, which shows the more aggressive heel angle of the VH. That was one thing I loved about my 705's, so this is good news
  2. How high are the boots compared to your G35's?
  3. Tendon guards should be a part of shin pads, not skates. There would be no more Karlsson injuries then.
  4. How high are they compared to your Grafs? How do they feel mobility-wise in comparison?
  5. Interesting. Please let us know how the combination feels!
  6. Perron's tied for the lead in Oilers scoring and has already equalled his point total from last season in 20 fewer games. He's been brilliant so far.
  7. When you have a drastic improvement in fit, you can experience a similar discrete improvement in performance. In such cases, in my experience, correct (or let's say "improved") technique and natural motion are one and the same. Glad you're finding a better fit and more fun on the ice
  8. Looks like 11K glove with an old style 9k cuff. Don't think that combination's available at retail anywhere.
  9. Perron with four points last night, and he scored for the second game in a row banking the puck off the goalie's shoulder from a tight angle.
  10. Thanks for pointing those Easton elbows out. I've been looking for something new, and I love the RBK 20K, except for the upper piece of the elbow pocket. It's cupped all the way to the top, locking the arm in a bent position. I've thought about modding them, but that would be a pain and unsure work on a pricey pad. These Eastons look similar, but with a floating piece where the top of the elbow cup is.
  11. I really like the new Nexus, love the angled grid that looks kind of 80's original computer graphics / that era Tron. And I love Bauer skates when they're black and blue (Supreme 1000, 3000, 5000 before the brownish heel pieces came in; Vapor 8, one95). I didn't really care for the look of the previous Nexus, but before that I really liked the Flexlite, with its subtleness and emphasis on texture over graphics. Unfortunately, Bauer 4000s, 5000s, and (OG-)Vapor 8s mutated my heels and never really worked for me for what they were supposedly built for. I've been suspicious of Bauer ever since becoming essentially a Graf variant of what I criticized above. I'm intrigued by Bauer's skates since the one90, but if I'm going to skate in anything non-Graf now, I'm thinking it'll be VH. Before that I was thinking it would be the Mako. I love the speed skate influence that's coming about.
  12. Guessing their preconscious will be something like, 'their (sic) not bauer's'
  13. I love the white. When do you get to skate on them?
  14. I'm curious, how do the VH boots feel to skate in compared to the --5s from Graf, also, how high is the boot cut compared to those. 705s were the best fit I ever had, and I've been unable to skate in anything higher cut ever since, but I'm really intrigued by VHF.
  15. It's an interesting thought, but they don't look symmetrical, top or bottom.
  16. Seeing more and more Winn. Jets in these skates.
  17. Good to hear about the custom footbeds with thermoplastic-base boots, I had been wondering about that, but I couldn't remember anyone mentioning that combination at all.
  18. Yes, it looks like a high heel on TV.
  19. To dig up an older question in this topic, why aren't more pros using them, I'm seeing a lot more of these on NHL / KHL players; nothing that rivals Bauer or even CCM-Reebok numbers, but I'd guess more are wearing them than used to wear Easton skates.
  20. Really really like the white, black, composite, chrome balance in all that the more I see it...the holder and steel just makes my eye circulate very pleasantly about the whole. Anything odd about your foot in that spot? Maybe it was triggered by your foot measurements.
  21. I like the white. What's with the added composite section just behind the toes?
  22. I remember it being tricky last time I did it. I think I just went through with clicking the "change" prompt on the image in my profile.
  23. The more I hear the more excited I am about this skate. But, then, don't you think an avatar change is in order @GiancarloSFL?
  24. Sweet. Have you skated on them? How do they feel?
