Catalogue Review 2016 True Hockey Catalogue
jdksaves replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
We are not currently looking at offering custom blade option. We have to see a slight up tic in the sales of the stock patterns along with enough of a push from our consumers and retail partners to really get into it. Trust me, it has been discussed and discussions will continue as we always want to offer things, but it has to be justified. -

They are on the site. We wanted to launch everything close to the same time. The thumb still has the same make up of how a traditional glove has it with a close to thumb pocket and an extended sleeve away from the thumb. The thumb also has the new TRUEFlexx lock thumb for added flex. Tapered shafts will be a little later then the Stick Launch in March Cureently we are doing custom stick options in Sr and no custom shaft options. Possibly in the future, but nothing planned any time soon. -

Glad to hear you bought two sets and enjoy them. The feel should be similar, but the other difference in regards to the A6.0 glove is the padding is thicker to beef up the glove a little more, but keeping the overall same feel. Push Back may have been the wrong words, but I was also speaking generally. What I was trying to say was that we have gotten a lot of feedback, all constructive (more good and some otherwise) and this always helps us to continue to assess what we are doing. What I was trying to convey was that we knew people would have some skepticism, because it is something new and that is fine. We will be working hard to win as many people over, by making the best possible products we can. Thank you for your support and thank you for the feedback again this always helps and sorry for the wrong choice of words. We have a few different programs in place to assist our partners as dealers. To answer your question, every avenue is always discussed, but consignment is not a route we like to take. Glad to hear you enjoyed the sticks and gloves at the demo. The thing that gets lost in this talk of the High end gloves are that we have great second tier gloves in the line that are in line with some other companies high end gloves in the A4.5 and the XC7. -

Both are very good points and it is great to hear TRUE Hockey is getting a good response out there. -

15's will not be released with the others to start, but we are working on finalizing the sizing details. Tougher to do when you have to make sure the glove fits like a 15 and then you have to make sure the palms match. The durability of the gloves will be the same as most of the other high end gloves in the market. As far as the durability of the zippers, this has been tested at length and redone through the development process to make sure that the odds are low of zippers being an issue We are a high end product company and that is where we start from and then work our way down. Eventually we will hit the mid to lower glove price demographics with an option similar to this, but first and foremost we want to release the high end glove. The other thing that we are looking for is more the performance and custom aspect of the palms not mainly the capability to change a palm when its been worn through. We have had a lot of interest from the showings we have done on the performance aspect. As far as the Retail floor space, we are not saying every dealer has to do 50 palms of each, we have many different programs and if they only feel comfortable with 2 of each that is something they can do. Sure we would like them to have more, but we have to be realistic. We also understand that this is a new innovation and there will be concerns so that is why we have worked through concerns with dealers and will continue to do so moving forward. This is a product that we believe in and have already had a lot of people (consumers and dealers) jump on board with us on this product. We also have a long commitment of time to see that this works because like I said this is something that we believe in and know can work for most everyone eventually. Again, it is not only the matter of the palm needing to be replaced it is a way to change performance. Also again, we are not looking at this from a stand point that we are going to try this glove for a year or two and be done with it. As I stated previously, when we make updates to the glove lines we are making sure that new palms will work with old gloves and new gloves will work with old palms when the time comes to make those updates to the lines. As far as pricing goes, pricing is pricing and has to be set at some point. We believe we have products that can command that price for now, but we will always be evaluating and if there are tweaks to be made we will make them. Again, with new products and new legitimate innovations and concepts I/we know there will be push back and this is all understood. Once again we believe in this product, but we know it is something that we will have to work at to get the masses on board. We have made great head way on this front to start and we plan to continue making more and more headway. In our position we want to be as innovative as possible, but stick as close to the traditional looks and styling that Hockey equipment is and has been. This is a philosophy that will continue as we continue to develop products with the players in mind and strive to make the best possible products we can. -

That's great. We are going for that to an extent, but it is also a performance enhancing/custom option presence we are trying to have with the replaceable palms. Great to hear you are loving the XCore 9, trust me you're not the only one. Thanks, It's great to be back. Hoping I can make an appearance at SJ this year, but may not be able to pull off another sample thing like in the past. With the testing we have done, we believe its something that works very well. Also the response we have gotten from consumers is even better than we anticipated from the start. It's amazing how much call we have been getting for the shaft and blades. It nice being in the position we are in that we can provide a product like the shaft and blades that other brands have totally given up on. Obviously there is still call for them. -

I'd be curious to know what you think when you get a chance to feel the gloves in the right size and fit, as a lot of players have told us they feel great, but they were putting on the proper sizing right away. -

Hey Guys, Jason here, been on Modsquad for a long time and a lot of you may know me from the past being with another Hockey company that is no longer doing hockey, but still doing the Softball/Baseball thing. I am currently the Project Coordinator for TRUE Hockey and will continue to be on this thread and others, so if you have any questions let me know and I will try to get back to you as soon as I can. The replacements are specific to glove size as palms fit differently for size on a different size glove. The zippers are not fully exposed once zipped and are up closer to the padding on the gusset, so face washing shouldn't be an issue. As JR Said the palms are sold on a program to Dealers and they will be able to stock all the palms and put them on a POP rack. The palms come as a set and will be able to be ordered to fill in gaps as they sell through. It may seem like a lot, but we wanted to start with options so we could meet the demand of many different players and what they look for in palms. This is a system that we have developed to last a long time, so we are not planning to have this for a year or two and then be done with it. We plan to have these as options even if we make a tweak to the glove and update it in the future. We want the palms to work with that glove When taking the pictures in the catalog, we were trying to get each attribute across. As a whole, the gloves have the traditional glove shaping that has been popular for sometime in the hockey equipment industry Something this innovative and game changing will draw some skepticism, but this is something that has been in testing for close to two years and is definitely an item that we believe in. We don't look to be the me too, we are looking and trying for common sense innovative designs that will still have the traditional look and feel, but offer something new and different in that certain category. As I said, this has been in the works for sometime and it is great to see it out there being used. -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener
jdksaves replied to tamtamg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I stopped by the booth on Friday and I think this is an item for a lot of the parents out there that don't have the time to waste bringing skates to a shop or to learn how to sharpen. I know I asked a lot of questions, but they were all answered very well. From bent blades, to shavings getting in any of the housings and mechanical areas, to how to adjust the wheels to be centered. I think there is a market for this product and can be a great asset for a lot of Families, will I purchase one probably not as I sharpen my own skates and enjoy doing it, but if it ever came to be that I didn't enjoy or didn't have the option of sharpening any longer this would be a purchase for me. -
What I mean of rolling edges is the edge actually is gone, yes there are blow out on turns and stops and every time I look at the metal there is an edge completely gone in a inch to 3 inch section at some point. I have been sharpening and skated on multiple different set ups and have not had this issue with any other set up. I can usually make a sharpen last a month or even two, but this is almost every other skate, Just sharpened them earlier this week and skated tonight and felt solid, so I will give them another try and see how it goes next skate.
-
I do remember Chadd saying that before, but I don't think that is the issue as I did rocker them along with multiple sharpens. It shouldn't take this much to get to the sweet spot.
-
I don't know about others, but I have not rolled this many edges ever in any other skate. I really am skeptical about the metal and holder, but the boot is the most comfortable I have ever had. Giving the runners a few more hours before I try to change it out.

2013 Easton Hockey Catalogue
jdksaves replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2013 Product Catalogue Reviews
Actually the weave is cosmetic, but does serve the purpose of easier connection or cover for the uni material. With that being said, using just uni reduces the weight in itself, but getting rid of the kevlar along with it will reduce the weight even greater. With any company they have to pick and choose what will have the greater representation as for as presenting the brand and I think with the right choices and follow through they could be a major competitor in all categories -
The HDI is the best most accurate in my mind.
