Nah, one of Souray's jocks. They should have a good supply of them, he seems to leave one on the ice every time he has to stop someone one on one.
-
I have a very specific request for anyone going to the sale. Please PM or email me if you are going.

Doesn't your husband read MSH? You might want to remove the part about hooking up with someone. ;)

Guys, let's not make this personal. My comments were never intended that way and it was partly due to the frustration of seeing yet another topic and person pre-ordering. Part of my goal with MSH is to try and help people become better consumers of hockey gear. How to make sure you are getting good info from your LHS and to help ensure you get the gear that best fits you. My frustration comes from people pre-ordering products with no idea of fit, sizing or durability, just so they can be the first ones to have things. I love hockey and I love new hockey gear but the style instead of substance that I see more and more is a major turn off for me. I've said it before and I'll say it again: It's easier to tell people you make a good product than it is to make one.
-
My statements go for everyone who is obsessed about pre-ordering gear, not just you.

hum, I know I've only got a high school diploma and I work in home improvement so I'm very familiar with a tape measure, and JR managed to measure himself and his fit fine. So unless youre telling me measuring yourself involves some kind of high level calculus I think I can handle it. If I only knew what the process was? :D He sent in measurements to get custom skates made, more than a bit different from this situation and he still has some pain last time I looked. Fit isn't all about numbers. Then again some people get so obsessed with having things they don't even know if they fit properly or not.
-
You'll still have that feeling no matter what day they show up. Unless of course you actually go in and get fitted properly at your local shop, then you don't have to wait. Guessing at your skate size is moronic, eespecially when you're talking about $500+.
-
Why the rush to have them the minute they come in?
-
And we're talking about a skate that has to be baked.

Drury is out of the Synergys and into them too

So I just got my Black Beauty Lie Detector.....
Chadd replied to Fletch's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Here ya go... http://www.bbsticks.com/liedetectorinst.htm But, if I have my regular stick (without a lie detector attached, just a regular blade that I'm thinking about buying) and I put my top hand down by my side, there is no way that the blade will be flush with the floor! It's going to be off the floor at least a couple inches. Maybe I wasn't clear... what's the best way of figuring this kind of thing out WITHOUT using a piece of equipment like the lie detector. Check the tape wear on the bottom of your blade. -

I've never seen one that low. -

The Inno Fedorov was slightly lower(4.5-ish), I assume the Warrior model is/will be as well. Sher-wood Leclair was also sub-5 last time I checked. -

That's the biggest problem in measuring lies. I don't know how many people I've seen say that a Lindros is a 5 lie, yet it is far more upright than a Modano when the shafts or blades are directly compared. -

How do you calculate lie...if you had a stick adn didn't know the lie...and didn't have a lie detector (which may not tell the truth *ha!*). Me? Trial and error. My preference is a 5-ish lie with a slight rocker as I tend to get on top of the puck a little more when I really want to put some extra "oomph" on my shots. I don't mean pick the best lie for you...I mean actually tell what lie a stick is? Compare them to something with a lie that you already know. Depending on how you measure the lie, you can get different readings. I think the most accurate way is to line up the toe and heel of the blades and compare the hosel/shaft angles. Unless the blade has a huge rocker or a really shaved toe it's a good way to determine how it's going to play. -

I beg to differ. -

The lie detectors are wildly inaccurate, at least for myself and my customers who used it. -
Not as far as my wife knows. ;) If the Grafs were snug, you may have an issue. If you had a little wiggle room you should be ok.
-
I'm no expert on Grafs though, I only play one on the internet. Depending on how the Grafs fit you, the Kors may fit or may be slightly too small.
-
5.5 if I remember correctly.
-
I did bake mine and it didn't have much of an impact.
-
The one pictured is the only one I have. I'll see if I can get a pic of the toe for you, but it's not rounded off much at all.
-
I'm only saying that they didn't fit like my S500s, you might be ok coming from Eastons. You should try them on before you buy them though.
