On the internet, hockey stories have become akin to fishing stories (i.e. caught a 6 inch sun fish, but to your buddies that weren't there it was a 25lb Striped Bass) That fluttering knuckle puck that came in on goal at about 3mph morphs into a 'blistering' and 'frightening' cannon slapper that burnt a hole through the goalie's glove...by the time it gets retold on the internet.

Regarding the tall gussets...I'm a huge fan of that. I had a pair of Marcel Hossa Mission L7's from his time with the Yotes, and he had tall digital gussets. Just an unbelievably functional - and awesome feeling - glove. The reason (some) players do that is extra mobility. It obviously gives your fingers a better range of motion. Conversely, I had a pair of Vrbata PPFs that the gussets felt like they were 1/4 inch tall and it made the gloves/fingers ridiculously stiff. Super uncomfortable glove. The gusset height is a small detail that goes unnoticed that can lend itself to additional glove functionality.

Custom Glove Gallery (questions and answers)

To be honest, I think PSHG's customer service is flat out horrible. But that's a different thought for a different thread. The pair my wife had done for me she tried to get digital palms and they told her no digital palms because there were certain parameters to what could be ordered. Digital isn't even an exotic palm. That led me to believe that the whole PSHG Warrior Custom Program was just stock gloves with your choice of color and limited number of upgrades. (the price of the whole deal was my first inclination) And it could be a number of reasons why they aren't just flat out saying it's a packaged type thing, and I'd just be speculating if I took a guess why. But on the surface, it would take something away from the allure of ordering 'custom' gloves. -

Couldn't agree more with this post, well said. Not specifically aimed at your SSB. To b33f - I think what you're missing here, and perhaps lost in all of this, is that I sense PSHG has a deal with Warrior Canada for 'stock custom' gloves, if that makes any sense. Meaning, the price is the price is the price, but it only includes the things I mentioned above, with a small upcharge for Number and Palms. That said, a Canadian customer can probably go through a Canadian retailer (The Hockey Shop, MajerHockey, etc) to get a truly custom glove done. (lengths, cuff, etc.) -

But PSHG is based in Canada. So, what sense would it make for them to have that same partnership with Warrior USA? That said, there isn't a shortage of US retailers that will accommodate people for their gloves. -

To the people 'upset' about not being able to get a Hossa cuff, or this cuff, or that mod based on the PSHG customizer...come on guys, you can't be serious about this, can you? You guys are either simply burying your head in the sand or you're trying to exploit the system. The price on PSHG's Warrior glove customizer is CONSIDERABLY lower than what you would pay going through, say, an IW or Monkey, or (insert store name here). But you guys think you're entitled to the same types of labor intensive mods but pay considerably less for it? Come on. The 'custom' specs you are paying for with the PSHG customizer are: Color, Palms, Gusset, Name and Number, all on a stock spec'd glove. If you guys want custom finger lengths, custom cuffs, custom whatever, then go through a retailer and pay what it 'actually' costs to have done. EDIT: When you guys are building your custom Warrior gloves, and it's keeping that running retail tally at the bottom of the page, you honestly thought you could get that same glove that says $350 for $200? -
Indeed, and a huge reason I try to stay away from used gloves. I've had various pairs of gloves straight out of the Yotes equipment room, some that were only worn for 2 games total, and they just smelled terrible. I am OCD about putting my hands in gloves that another man sweated in, and that's to say nothing of the process to 'de-funk' used gloves. Just personal preference.

UCLA - did you get those Hannan's off NHL Auctions? $370 was a little high for my tastes. Nice pickups either way. The DJ King AK's are outrageous!

Geflite - I really liked the last pair you did. Nice taste in gloves. To your current challenge...honestly, I feel the Warrior blooming cuff to be more functional for wrist mobility than a Hossa cuff is, and you're not sacrificing length as you mention above. Just my opinion, and I am a huge stickler for wrist mobility in gloves. -
Killer work CBart. Love Eagles.

WOW. Beauts!

Specifically, I do love that Hartford collection. Love that color combo, the unique gloves, and I'd imagine is a difficult quest to put together a collection like that.

@Monty - Love your Whalers collection. Awesome stuff. @Too Old - Really digging the navy/white/gray PPF's. Beautiful gloves. Great looking collection all around.

Totally bro, couldn't agree more. And I didn't mean to sound snappy in my last post. My original point was, I just sort of get a kick out of these buzzwords that get thrown around and people jumping on bandwagons like they think they 'need' these mods done (ex: gotta have a Hossa cuff!) on their gloves before even knowing what it is. Something else sort of funny is that I would order 'Savard fingers' on my gloves - shorter/wider and slightly taller gussets. -

Indeed Oh yeah, I get that. My point is, I was musing that I'm not quite sure where along the way it became Hossas signature cuff because guys have been doing variations of it for ages. Truth be told, the one piece cuff doesn't really lend itself to any additional wrist mobility. IMO, it sort of limits it. It's really all about the length of the underside cuff, and additionally, if the palm is contoured. @Gra8erade. Yes, I know. But thank you for the explanation! You do realize Morris used Eagle gloves long before he ever used Warrior, right? -

It's funny what you guys are calling 'Hossa cuff' and 'Savard cuff' because it's simply a one piece cuff with a shortened underside. No real mystique about it. The irony in all of this is when I would get Eagle customs done I'd call it the 'Derek Morris cuff' because it's how he'd always get his CP94's done. LOL This was the last pair I had done, right before Eagle was sold. Notice the shortened underside. They actually attached a small piece of elastic to hold the two pieces together for me on the underside. Of all the gloves I have owned, none beat the wrist mobility of this pair of Eagle Nick Schultz pro gloves. Even the custom gloves above can't hold a candle to these in terms of mobility and comfort. Looks like a non descript cuff, but it blooms in a way that no other pair of gloves I own do. Add in the digital palms and they are also my favorite pair of gloves I own, bar none. -
Nice work CheesePlz. Beauts!

Not piling on here, but it does look a little rough. That said, consider this another endorsement for Peaches. Just a great, great human being to work with and impeccable craftsmanship.

Since he posted my personal picture, I'll answer for him...it's a pro stock Jaro Bednar...very similar to a P10.

WOW - Beautiful gloves Gefilte. Very nice.

Akh - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the stick after you've had an opportunity to try it out. I just can't bring myself to use a Reebok stick, but I've heard such good things about the pro 11k, that I'm becoming more intrigued.

Palms she considered both upgrade options, and in the end thought the yellow mustang matched the green better than the brown of goat. Hey...I can't knock the logic, the palms feel amazing. I have no idea how she chose the insert package.

Thanks guys for the posts! Yeah, my wife is really supportive of hockey, and loves the sport. I have to really take care of her for Valentines Day. I never expected something like this and it is humbling. One other 'mod' I like making to all my gloves is the inside padding. Some gloves, (like Warrior and new Eagle PPF's) the padding is all one piece. On older Eagle gloves it used to be split. I take a razor and make a slice down the crease between the backhand and thumb. (if that makes any sense). I cut out the piece that would have essentially laid on my thumb. I like the feel of padding on the back of my hand, but I like a little room for my thumb. It makes a HUGE difference on my grip hand. Huge difference. As an aside, I remember when Freddie Sjostrom was in PHX, he used to cut ALL the padding out of his gloves. But yeah, the fit and feel on these Creepers is outrageous. I regret it took me this long to try them out.

Christmas gift from my dear Wife. Just an amazing job she did with these, and absolutely stunning. Matches perfectly the jerseys I'm wearing this season. I almost fell over when I opened the box. Minny colors are my favorite, bar none. When I heard about the Creepers fitting loose, more like a traditional 4Roll, I was intrigued. The wrist mobility is actually better than most 4 roll gloves.

Gr8erade - Beautiful gloves. You did a great job with them. What foam pack did you go with? How much was the digi palm upgrade? Same as Goat and Mustang?
