Maple is a much harder wood then ash , and you can feel it if you have ever swung both. Many players switch to maple as it is suppose to be more durable then ash (since most of us dont get free bats maple has really become popular). The problem is in fact with not the durability of the hard wood maple just how it breaks off, it splinters as previously said launching sharp projectiles sometime past the infield. I use a maple sam bat , had max bats and tpx all maple . That being said i have swung ash in bp and its just not the same feel for me. As far a the mlb going to composite , that can never happen, look at some of the liners coming back at the pitchers as it is.... composite would make it far more dangerous as oppose to the rare occassion a splintering bat hits sommeone.

Great to hear had this argument with a few guys on my team all last year I play baseball. Then seen someone above point out they play travel fast pitch so it brought it all abck

Not sure if its the same as baseball but rolling over your wrists or rolling over on it is only going to get you pounding the ball into the dirt. Edit: Sorry didn't see on the follow through . Also just curious in your areas is fast pitch softball big or does everyone play baseball until a certain age and move into slow pitch?

I love slo pitch , its a great time. However i can't stand fast pitch its a shitty baseball. Having a few kids on my hockey team always trying to tell me fast pitch is better and more popular than baseball didn't help. Especially since i didn't really like the kids .

Yeah same. I had the 80-90's last season and loved them . Great skate. Would still be using them if my foot didn't grow but unfortunately going from an 8.5 to a 10 is to big of a difference to squeeze into .

When should he know if he made the club or not? I heard he was doing pretty good for himself in training camp , so I have a hard time seeing him get sent down for one mistake.
