Played the dirty team last night in mens league. I don't know what happen to this team a few years ago they used to be skilled and we would play some good fast games. Over the years they haven't had many player changes, but they just got so much dirtier to play against. The constant slashing, hooking and cross checking. We are talking the puck is no where near you and you catch a slash to the back of the leg. Last night I went into the corner for a puck and I boxed a guy out, and he cross checks me from behind. I drew the penalty, but he was complaining to the ref asking why I wasn't getting a penalty. He ended up getting an extra 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike. Same player in the 3rd period just went at my player for a hit mind you this is a no check league. Hands up and his hands/ stick made the most contact with my teammates head. The whole team was complaining to the refs and telling them to do their job better and the game wouldn't have gotten out of hand. but to tell you the truth if they called the game tighter that team would have had way more penalties than they had. For reference in a 24 game season last winter this team had 279 penalty minutes the second dirtiest team in the league had 244 all of the other teams where under 180. So this team is getting 100+ more penalty minutes than almost every other team in this league. Its at the point where I don't want to play against them anymore. I wish the guy who runs the league would kick them out, but that would only leave us with 5 teams which wouldn't be fun. Sorry for the long rant enjoy your day!

Thanks for the advice guys. If and when I win the one.8's off eBay I will purchase the chassis. I plan on doing this at the shop I work at. I only work 4 hours a week and always leave the repairs for the other guy who works there with more experience in holder swaps. I figure what better way to learn then to do it myself. I will post pictures when they are complete.

Any tips on mounting the chassis?

I am thinking about converting some Bauer One.8s with the HI-LO Aluminum Chassis (http://www.inlinewarehouse.com/HI-LO_Aluminum_Roller_Hockey_Chassis_2015/descpage-HLALF5.html) How would the composite outsole hold up if I had to dremel some of it? I will be doing this myself under the watchful eyes of a friend who has swapped out many ice holders for people he has never put a chassis on a boot though. Any tips for that? Is there anything different than an ice holder?

I played pretty much my entire life in lacrosse elbow pads. I used them in college club and never had an issue. Over the winter I fell just right on my elbow, and I must have bruised it pretty good, because it hurt for two months. I still continued to wear them. I just really wanted to try these out after reading up on them. If these weren't as mobile as they where I would still be using the lacrosse ones. For what its worth I have tried on a bunch of hockey elbow pads through the years most recently APX 2, MX3, Nexus 1000, Nexus 8000, RBZ, T90, and I will say none of them compare.

I have always used lacrosse elbow pads while playing. I read a bunch about how much the STX Surgeons felt like lacrosse pads finally decided to try them out. The mobility in these are far better than any hockey elbows I have ever tried on before.

Thanks. No there was no modifications to the cage. I may have pinched in a little so that it would rest on the J Clips, but nothing crazy. Its just the CCM 580.

This info was posted in another post a while ago Boot width/ Heel width A Vapor D is a true D or EE is a true EE width boot. Vapor retail D= D/A retail EE= EE/B Supreme retail D= E/A retail EE= EEE/B Nexus retail D= EE/A retail EE= EEEE/B Currently if you are in a Vapor EE a Supreme D will fit slightly narrower. When you're suspended one game because you mouthed off to the ref for calling 3 extremely soft penalties. We are talking lifting the stick is a hooking call. I was told after my first soft tripping call I was on a short leash that night. I'm not sure what I did to the refs, but I'm the one paying for it.

Honestly I didn't like it. I liked how the hip pads fit, but the thigh pads kept getting caught on my shin guards. I tried a bunch of different adjustments, and it just didn't do it for me.

Picked up a 9K girdle from MC88. I have never used one before, and wanted to try it out. When I tried it on I felt a little restricted in it compared to traditional pants. I will have it on the ice tomorrow to test it out.

I have nothing too special to show off, but I picked up another 4500, because the one I use had a huge crack in it. I have wanted to get more protective shoulder pads so I picked up these U+12 shoulders from eBay. I also wanted to try out some longer shins I grabbed these U+CS shins also from eBay. Love the longer shins and new shoulder pads, and could not be happier with them.

whats funny about that is the same guy brings the beer every week. When he skips a game usually are captain brings the beer. I always feel bad taking one and I have said to him if he ever wants to take a week off just let me know. He responded with "I like bringing the beer it makes me feel important. It makes me feel like I contributed to the team, and makes up for my lack in skill" VENT: I have a guy on my team who thinks he is gods gift to hockey. He is such a pain in the ass. Always commenting on everything and never seems to have tape. Well the other night the only spot in the locker room was next to him. He asks what skates I had and made a comment that they where too high end for my skill. He then also made a comment on how I lace my skates. He just has something to say about everything. Very annoying.

every time I go to update it and click save I get this message. I have tried altering the way I type it in different browsers. I gave up on it.

I re-baked them the other day and squeezed the back of the skates. I also had a little width problem on my right foot near my toes so I cut a sock in half and wore it over my skate socks while baking. Played with them last night and the fit felt so much better. Thanks for the help.

Any tips on how to get better heel lock? I was thinking about rebaking the skates and squeezing the heel. I also though about trying Ezee fit booties or something similar.

See I am lucky my future MIL takes my side over my fiancé every time. She does the same with my future brother in law. She has always taken the men's side over the woman side. But what do you do when your fiance and your mother don't agree? WW3?

See I said no flowers for the guys and then my fiancé, my fiancé's mother and my mom all looked at me and told me I was crazy and that we will be wearing flowers. I wasn't going to put up an argument over something so dumb as guys pinning a flower to their jacket not worth my time or effort.

Smart. We are more or less done with all the big stuff/ important stuff. We are getting married october 3rd so now its just the little things. The thing that sent me over the edge was we went and did the flowers this passed weekend and we are saving a ton of money by only having people in the wedding wear them no extravagant center pieces or anything like that. So we booked a corsage for the mothers to wear and then my mom talked to my cousin and my cousin said "corsages are old school tell him you want a nosegay" To which I reply "WTF is a nosegay?" and apparently its a smaller bouquet than a bridesmaid bouquet. Now I personally do not care what my mom wears/ carries doesn't carry, but I know my fiancé won't like the idea. The other part that bothers me is this wasn't even talked about until after we booked them and if it was such a big deal then why was it not talked about prior to booking. Now the florist is my best friends mom and a simple phone call can change the order slightly however its getting my fiancé and mom both on board with the same idea thats the challenge. haha thanks chad that made me laugh. Thanks for the tip on a troubleshooter. My fiancé and I are pretty go with the flow type of people myself more than her. I don't really care and don't get overly worked up about stuff. We have a relatively small guest list compared to other family weddings I have been to so that helps. MThockeydad aint it the truth. Yes woman are crazy. It is really nice that my dad and I understand each other. I already told him to tell my mom to stop talking to my cousin about my wedding and just show up and enjoy it. And 30 years from now you won't remember the stuff you didn't like about it. I am very excited for pre wedding festivities. My brother and friends have planned exactly want I wanted for a bachelor party which is just a beach house with a BBQ. I want very low key nothing too crazy. Thanks everyone for the support.
