  1. OG Bauer perf steel, and at least one Vapor 10 holder on there. Neat skates.
  2. Not a vent, but your pretzel dogs are a very legitimate food choice.
  3. Made the two hour trip today to see DarkStar50 at the Ice House Pro Shop, and it was extremely worthwhile. He measured me and we tried on a few pairs of X:60s, and ultimately determined retail wasn't going to do the trick. The best part was going through the Bauer custom order form in tandem, picking and choosing which options were most sensible, I think one of the cruelest parts of my hockey career will be waiting for these skates to arrive. All in all, couldn't think of a more appropriate and beneficial situation to knowingly meet my first MSH'er face-to-face. EDIT: Also, as a member here, I wouldn't be able to live with myself making a two hour trip to a pro shop and returning empty handed, so I picked up a pair of the rink's travel team's MTO Bauer Pro 4 Rolls.
  4. Leino strikes me as a guy that has all the skills and will make a vast majority of the plays, but just can't complete certain things the way you'd expect from watching him play. Part of this may be due to his relative lack of experience with NA hockey.
  5. Usually starting dialogue about officiating leads nowhere, but there were certainly some strange calls made in the Pens game.
  6. Stevens was good in developing younger guys, but systems is where he was lacking. I see him as more of an assistant coach type.
  7. Toss me in there for a 7 1/4 old Phils alternate with the blue brim.
  8. Or you get not get so polluted that you were still hung over at 11. But he's flying on New Years, I think it'd be tough not to overindulge the night before.
  9. Worst hangover I ever had was on a plane, boarded still tipsy from the previous night and after two hours in air my head wanted to explode. Try to cop some Valium.
  10. They made great improvements against the Habs but still couldn't generate any offense. Hopefully this will spur a turnaround, and granted they're .500, but it is still the Islanders.
  11. If they don't plan on getting rid of Boucher or Emery in that deal, it won't be worth losing a roster player to make salary room for Biron, unless they plan on flipping one of those three goalies at the deadline which I doubt. Boucher has played relatively well of late, hopefully he can handle the number one for six weeks http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=301587 .
  12. Just heard Emery is on IR with an abdominal injury that might require surgery. I guess this might explain the tail-off in his play.
  13. That's a great pickup for the Yanks. I'm really hoping for a '10 WS rematch.
  14. The reason he's making $1.4M in NY is because nobody else wanted him at his initially desired salary. By the time he joined the Islanders the Flyers had already settled their goalie spots, if his original asking price had been that 1.4 then I have no reason to believe he wouldn't be a Flyer now.
  15. Just another overall great performance this evening, though I give a semi-pardon with the coaching change tumult. Another successive clump of lackluster performances and I wonder what roster moves they make. I anticipated regardless of win/loss balance this would be an interesting season.
  16. So glad ditching Upshall gave the Flyers an opportunity to have Dan Carcillo.
  17. I love Richards as much as the next Flyers fan, but I think it's possible he could've become captain too soon. Certainly there are a few young captains across the league that are successful but Richards doesn't seem ready to assume the full range of accountability that an NHL captain must. I'm not opposed to him imbibing in the perks a young, loaded athlete enjoys, but I think Richards' extracurriculars are of too great an import to him for his designated stature.
  18. I think I would've preferred Nolan or Hartley, but I'm not sure how realistic either of those options were. Hopefully should still be an upgrade.
  19. http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=301079 Looks like Laviolette.
  20. What you are describing is the type of play that is typical of Simon after returning from injury/surgery, he seems to take longer than most to re-acclimate himself to the game, and will play a very timid style.
  21. Any ideas on how long Gagne will be out? Id have to imagine he'll miss the Olympics. 6-8 weeks, so I would imagine that hurts his Olympic chances.
  22. It is all but certain that Gagne's hernias will require surgery, and Randy Jones has been placed on re-entry waivers.
  23. On another note, JVR looked very impressive at times, but there were certainly moments he appeared awkward. The game also had the fewest people in attendance I'd personally seen in recent Flyers' games.
