  1. In discussing available options I figured I'd share my opinion on one of my favorite more low-key features on my X:60s. I opted for the double thick plastic tongue insert because of lace bite turned tendinitis, and though it took some time to gain curvature, I am blocked from any discomfort whatsoever. The thick plastic is also in a very useful space just below the end of my shins and has been doubly useful in protecting me while blocking shots.
  2. Whenever I was too tired to meet it was usually because I planned on exhausting myself drinking.
  3. I think you need to be an adult and, if you really don't want him to use your sticks, make sure he understands he can't.
  4. If it was a product whose price they could not have been able compete with, or an item they never offered, I think they should be appreciative that you trust and prefer them to do that work for you. Also, don't feel guilty.
  5. Not a vent, but that struck me as a very appropriate replacement for where you might see a/s/l on other forums.
  6. Were you playing the Breast Cancer Awareness team?
  7. That conservative bastion Brown?
  8. Damn $224? I was going 80 on the PA turnpike, luckily my cop was friendly and cited me for "Not obeying posted speed". Simple $110 mail-in check.
  9. Regarding the 3Flex/Reflex tongue, that was the information I had at the time of ordering. It's moot for me at least as I opted for a double-thick plastic insert.
  10. But if you make the block, it's all good. I think everyone's potted an own goal at some point.
  11. Had a very severe groin strain/tear that worked its way down into slight tears of my hamstring. The only that worked was Icy Hot-ting the ish out of it, fortunately/unfortunately the area of a groin strain is in such proximity to my coin purse that during games and practices the Icy Hot would migrate a bit. I don't think I need to relay what that sensation is like, but it at least took my mind off my groin enough.
  12. This has no impact on custom skates as they are made in St. Jerome, Quebec. In fact on my custom skates I could not get the Reflex tongue as all the toolery is based in Asia.
  13. At least you can still make a decent pun?
  14. Updating to BlackBerry 6 on a Mac. Holy shit.
  15. Yeah, but how long of a flight is it?
  16. Cutting counters moves the top three or so eyelets back towards the skate's heel. If you envision a tied skate, this reduces the wrap of the boot in the upper ankle area. For myself and my skinny ankles, this has helped cease lacebite caused by too much wrap.
  17. I was very pleased with the Ice House Pro Shop in Hackensack, NJ.
  18. Don't want to get excessive, but I wanted to put these here for posterity's sake. and
  19. Looks like he toned his pencil point toe shape. How stiff are those?

  21. Say what you want about shootouts, I won a game as the third (and only successful) shooter, and it's an awesome feeling. Skating over to organize the celebration around their fans felt almost as nice.
  22. First real game at Consol Energy Center: Philadelphia Flyers victory.
