Mine did not require new holes. Used exactly the size it required. Remember that SB 4.0 has same rivet pattern as Tuuk. As long as you match the holder size you should be good. Had to expand on one of the holes.

Sorry, a bit late with all that has been happening as of late - Got the skates a couple of days before I had to go to Columbus, OH for a business trip, and so the first time I skated on them was at SummerJam. These skates have felt nothing like any other CCM skate I've ever worn. The left skate was absolutely perfect. The right skate, however, started to develop a bit of arch pain in them. But I did not lace them up myself (thanks, @mojo122) so the lacing wasn't the same as the left. I had difficulty getting dressed in the locker room and sadly enough, had to require help lacing and then unlacing my skates when I was done. The injury that I sustained during Winterfest simply hasn't gotten better. I think I skated for an hour on them.

I'm still interested in seeing the machine and/or a sharpened set. Looks like customers seem to be happy with the final product.

You need to go one up from Jetspeed. I wore 10.5 in Jetspeed as well as MX3, and 11 in these. I tried the 10.5 ST and couldn't get the skate on.

I referenced how the carbon fiber that they use in the skate changes post-bake. It pushed out at the balls of my feet. JS also spoke on this: Posted April 18 This is merely a PSA so that people don't think it's cracked.

I've mentioned before that I haven't had a lot of success with CCM skates over the long term - usually it was strictly a fit issue. On some, the volume wasn't right. On others, it was too much volume. Or it was the arch. Or it was too wide. You get the point. Then Jetspeed came along. While those seemed to fit me pretty decently, there was something odd about it. Well-made skate, but in terms of bleeding-edge technology that we were seeing from competitors and upstarts, it simply wasn't there. And there's nothing wrong with that. The skate is what it is, and the price point reflects that.. The first iteration of the Tacks reboot was interesting, however, once again, it really did not have "it." And this version just might. With Super Tacks, you're seeing a departure from skates that come boxy out of the box; gone are those cavernous heels and ankles without definition of any sort. It is similarly shaped to Jetspeed in the rear, but wider in the front. The toe box is nuts. It feels like nothing before - completely seamless. The way it is achieved is the outer toe box goes over the bootsock, held together by a rivet on both sides; as if it's snapped in. To get a better understanding of it, I went ahead and unmounted the holder to see what was underneath. The boot is beveled to accommodate the TPU outer toebox covering. The bottom of it is held in by the rivets when the holder is on. The tongue is different from the initial pictures of the skates in the catalogue; that one called for a molded tongue. This is a good compromise between that and a standard felt tongue. Also noticed a running change with the graphic; my pair does not have the grey heel accents that the stock photos had. They baked well; it is interesting to see what happens to the carbon fiber post-bake. You can see where it was pushed out - it looks like ridges. In my case, they were at the balls of my feet, on both sides; the inner was more pronounced than the outer. The boots wrapped very well after the bake. One of my biggest fears was that they were going to be extremely stiff, considering the materials and also the tendon guard. Won't be able to touch on that until I skate them, but I received them a couple of days ago. As far as sizing is concerned; I went with 11D. My Jetspeeds were 10.5 D. I'm a 10.5 D in Bauer Supreme and 10.5 EE in Vapor. Thanks goes out to the team at CCM Hockey for providing me with this pair. There's no need for that reaction. They're stating their PERSONAL anecdotes. Obviously people who work on skates will see it more because they see multiple pairs. I've been seeing varying steel thicknesses lately, as well as mis-stamped steel - one of our members who I sharpen for needed LS2 (not even Edge) and both were stamped 263mm and one was a 272. I don't think I've run across any LS3s that go loose in the holder, but certainly LS2 and LS Fusion.

CCM has now launched a new helmet to their Fitlite family in the 3DS. It's the first helmet in which they have introduced D3O to, and they've added it to the temple/side area of the helmet. Also, the Microdial system has been revamped. The guts of the helmet is still EPP with memory foam padding. The helmet also features an ABS subshell for additional protection, which will also have color options. It's a slightly different fit from previous Fitlite helmets; it has a deeper fit.
