vtaenz - I can't answer why they chose the colors they did, but I've never had a problem with white equipment, personally. I really take care of my equipment (my youngest piece of protective is my girdle which is 5 years old. Elbows are 12, shins are 19 but I've owned them for 4. As far as your issue with them sliding down, a simple modification can be made on your part to replicate the Vapor system. Wouldn't be hard to install a strap hanging on the bicep pad as well as one on the elbow pad with the buckle. The pant has clips on both ends that lock when the strap is pulled. Pulling them the opposite way loosens it.

Yeah; whenever a glove feels weird, it's best to give them the benefit of the doubt until the retail glove hits. Those samples more often than not tend to be "oops" gloves or gloves that are undergoing running changes and not finalized. We encountered that with Easton and the RS glove - there were two gloves in the booth back in 2011 that felt worlds apart; same model.

For that insole, it is an aftermarket insole. The station is used to determine which one you would need.

What they have done is layering carbon fiber in different directions to create different stiffnesses in zones. The layer that starts at the third eyelet and goes towards the back of the skate is the zone that will come in three different stiffnesses, so the skate will be offered in 75, 85 and 95 flex, in every size. The two quarters are asymmetrical - the inside ankles are shifted forward to be more anatomically correct. It is then bound together to continue their distinct heel profile and forward lean. The exterior is coated with their V2 Surlyn to protect the carbon underneath. The padding is integrated into the liner, and is a complete piece, and then layered into the boot. What also is interesting about the liner is that the material behind the liner that goes on your foot is moisture-resistant so any moisture stays on the liner and does not seep into the boot. The liner is new - it almost feels like PoronXRD, however has a tiny bit of that fuzz feel to it - extremely comfortable. The tongue is a thinner felt, and has heat-moldable material throughout the tongue. The fit is distinctive - it has the profile of a x35 boot, however the Achilles channel down the middle is a tad bit wider than that model. They've essentially taken that boot and crossed it with the G75. Top model is the G9035; the G8035 has glass instead of carbon fiber, and the G7035 goes with a microfiber liner and EPP quarter construction. The line rounds out from 5035, 3035 to 1035. The SRPP skates stay the same. The classic series stays the same, however, the 705 and 709 no longer has the ribbed quarter - it's smooth like what is on the 703, and has a new liner as well, which is a microfiber, also, new graphics packages across the board; the tendon guard notably. For goalies, the new G9035 and G5035 are based off the player models. New yellow cowling is an option as well. Sticks - Unchanged from 2012, however, an XWhip 65 flex in adult length has been added to the lineup. Gloves - Unchanged other than new colorways. Protective - Unchanged

The only one I see with a removable shell is the PPF x905, which is the Tackla 5000 Pro. Vaughn made that pant for NHL and Canadian retail back when they had the Tackla distributorship.

Goal - The big story for them this year (other than the fact that they are bowing out of the goal pad category; keeping chest/arm and pants) are the SL sticks - SL stands for Super Light, and the number after the SL corresponds to the weight of the stick. The SL700 has a high-modulus carbon fiber shaft, mated with a foam-core paddle that is reinforced with carbon fiber and fiberglass. There is a carbon fiber channel that crosses through the paddle to maintain stiffness. Also, the blade is extremely thin, especially in the heel area. As you go down the line, the 750 has standard carbon fiber in the handle. The 800 has an aspen core handle and loses the channel in the paddle. 825's paddle is devoid of carbon fiber. One thing to note about this catalogue is that they do a very good job at breaking their equipment down; there are several pages denoting the difference in detail about their equipment.
