  1. They have the patent on the method to apply the shape onto the wheel to be used in skate sharpening.
  2. Hell, it pains me to even think about doing a pass with that monstrosity.
  3. I've had full shots of the stick for a couple of months now. Let me find out if it's cool to unleash it.
  4. Why would they? They can use it on their BM.
  5. Yes, it will work on a BM machine as the wheel heights are the same.
  6. And Blackstone has taken it a step further... FBV for the masses... http://www.blackstonesport.com/product_det...?product_id=186 Standalone Spinner dresser that will work on any standard machine. Magnetic base for steel tables, if using an aluminum or granite top table, you might have to hold it in place.
  7. See if you can get the standard (non-parabolic) steel from Easton. It actually skates pretty well with that setup.
  8. The screws are too long, pushing it inward towards the temples. The solution is to remove the ear loops or use smaller posts.
  9. Warrior Dolomite HD Flex: 85 Curve: Fedorov Lie 4 non-grip Height: 6' Weight: 240 Postition: RW/C Time-frame of use: Since April Aesthetics: Big name call-out on both sides of the stick. Everyone will know you're using a Warrior stick. Contrasting graphics on both sides, nice touch. 10/10 Weight and Balance: Slightly lighter-feeling than the ONE95 I was reviewing simultaneously, however, does have somewhat of a plasticky feel to the stick. 9/10 Blade: A touch of pinginess blade-wise, much thinner than the ONE95. However, the blade still has plenty of life in it, and absolutely zero wear on it. Thin blade and heel. 9/10 Shaft/Flex: Slightly concave shaft, and feels very good in my hands. Flexes a tad softer than what is advertised, but no problems for me at all there. See more on this in Shooting. 9.75/10 Stickhandling and Passing: Much better than what I've used from Inno. Thinner heel helped with drag, however the blade is still a little bit hard on receiving passes, but a definite improvement. 9/10 Shooting: This was my biggest concern - last time I used an Inno/Warrior product, I absolutely hated how the stick torqued on shots - blade and shaft would twist, causing me to shank it. And all of those problems have been addressed for me. Stick loads up well, very accurate on net. 10/10 Durability: No loss of stiffness in the shaft, no major structural problems. Couple of scuffs here and there but no major chips or peeled decals. 9.5/10 Conclusion: Definite improvement from sticks of old, absolutely cannot gripe about anything about it. Thanks goes out to Keith Perera at Warrior Hockey for sending me a stick. Always appreciated. 9.5/10
  10. He bought it from me (Lightning) Here's a full shot -
  11. Glad to see you got it.
  12. On a new pair, I actually end up doing the same amount of passes as I would with sharpening a skate that has an existing hollow on it. It's not that I hate crossgrinding and am afraid of screwing up, it's just something that I've managed to only use unless absolutely necessary (profiling/rust)
  13. Yeah, hear ya on that. Started doing it in MI when we had the sharpening assembly line going - always disrupted when someone needed to CG.
  14. I don't. I dress the wheel, and can shape it using the wheel if necessary.
  15. Sorry, not going to put much credence in one skate and call it a "full review."
  16. I think the reason why you're not seeing a lot of user reviews on the skate is because nobody is buying anything right now. I know my LHS in Orlando sold one pair, I know other stores who have been sitting on them ever since they came out. Times are tough and skates can wait.
  17. Bauer Supreme One95 Flex: 87 Curve: PM9 Non-grip Height: 6' Weight: 240 Postition: RW/C Time-frame of use: Since April Aesthetics: Understated graphics, matte finish. In an age where everyone's going for flash, this stick looks very clean. 10/10 Weight and Balance: Weight is a little high when compared to sticks in its price range, and it feels a bit bottom-heavy. However, it's a healthy balance, and not necessarily a knock to the overall product. 9/10 Blade: For someone who has resisted using composite blades for so long, I actually liked the way this one handled. No major loss of stiffness, no chips at all whatsoever, and I tape mid-toe. No wear on the heel. Blade is a tad thick compared to other blades on the market. 10/10 Shaft/Flex: Slightly concave shaft with textured grip for the bottom hand - I never have liked boxy sticks, and this one feels very good in my hands. No problems with the flex - it flexes as advertised. 10/10 Stickhandling and Passing: Having the thicker blade and dual-density foam definitely helped out my stonehands, for sure. My problem with composite blades are the pinginess of them, however, with this blade, I'm able to receive passes with ease. A slightly thinner heel would have been great on it, but once again, positives outweigh the small negative there. 9/10 Shooting: Having a stick with a high kick point as this does, there's a bit of lag involved. I can drop absolute bombs with it, however, wristers somewhat suffered. No torquing from the shaft or blade whatsoever, shots are true. 9/10 Durability: No loss of stiffness in the shaft whatsoever but the stick gets beat up quite easily - I have some chips in it from playing C. Decals seem to peel quite easily, but once again, no major structural problems. 9/10 Conclusion: Absolutely rock-solid stick, however, I think that it should be priced about $10 cheaper than where it's at. Thanks goes out to Evan Baker at Bauer Hockey for sending me a stick. Always appreciated. 9/10
  18. Blackstone has nothing made in there own factory. Everything is outsourced. They have no quality control manager. Completely untrue - everything is made in their factory. Once again, you're spreading bad information in order to belittle a company and a product that you obviously have a grudge with. I had a problem with my holder and they took care of the issue. I also made some adjustments by taking a surface grinder to it but Blackstone's CS has ALWAYS been top-notch. A few users I know haven't had problems with it, but others did.
  19. Tried 100/50 last night and was really happy- even on a rainy night with full on rain divots and puddles in the ice. Yeah, sounds like you really needed the in-between, like I said you would. Glad to see you got it dialed in.
  20. The one that I have in Tampa Bay is EPP with the suspension system.
